I have a blue damsel, black spot near tail. He is the only on in the tank. He can be a bit aggressive but is kept in place by the other fish. He is a digger. Loves to dig caves in the sand.

That is very cool. Thank you for sharing!

Tonight my display went weird. Letters and numbers are a bit jumbled. Apex support had me reset and update the display module. That worked for a bit, then it went weird again. Anyone have this issue? Suggested fix?

Need to Calibrate, then determine how much I need to dose. Tank is still young but getting to the point that the water changes are not keeping up with CA and ALK.

Thanks. So you turn your ATO off with a defer statement. On for one minute?
Now that it seems to be working, I need to refine Also need to figure out which alarms I want to set/email and set up my DOS. The DOS will be next.
-
Thanks Scott. That seems to have done the trick. Would you mind explaining the virtual outlet acting as a timer? What are you timing?
-
Thanks Scott. Yes, using Avast's pressure sensitive switch. It is as if the switch loses pressure and flips when it should not.
It is a long run from the sensor to the switch. I may need to shorten. Sensor is in the pump section of sump, switch on opposite side of the cabinet mounted with the Apex.

Thanks Scott but that did not do the trick. When the water hits the right level, the ATO turns off, then after about 2 seconds, if that, the outlet turns back on.

Still struggling to dial in my ATO system. Using an AVAST switch connected to SW1 of the breakout box. Programming is:
Set up a virtual outlet:
SumpLow_A1
Set Off
If Sw1 CLOSED Then ON
If Sw1 OPEN Then OFF
ATO
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Outlet SumpLow_A1 = OFF Then OFF
If Outlet SumpLow_A1 = ON Then ON
When the pressure switch is exposed (water level low) the pump comes on. When the water level rises, the pump turns off, then after about 2 second, the pump turns back on. This is a problem.
Thoughts?

Thanks Scott. I had to change the "Tank Time" to our time zone and it seems to be working. Last tasks will be ATO, email/text alerts, and setting up the doser. This is a very cool little system.
-
Scott. It does work, it is just going by a different time zone. Need to figure this out.

Scott,
Light program not working. Should I delete the Set command?
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 19:00 to 07:00 Then ON
It's 21:13 and light is off.

Scott,
Thanks for relocating this post. I appreciate your help.
I think I have it as ON. That was an early morning, pre-coffee typo
Otherwise, does the code look correct?
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 19:00 to 07:00 then ON
I am a bit nervous about the ATO. A screw up there and I could end up with wet carpet.
I have manually triggered the pressure switch and did not see a corresponding change in the Fusion switch position. Is this normal.
Also, I would like to trigger email/text alerts, but have not decided how I want that set up yet. ATO pump ON too long would be one I guess. Skimmer overflow, and temp would be another.
Any tips for a new user?

I seem to recall seeing an Apex Sub Forum where programming questions may be posed, but I cannot find it:(
I recently set up my Apex and it mostly seems to be running ok. Still have to connect the ATO. WAnt to make sure I am around when I do this in case I screw it up
I am still trying to work out the bugs on my Refugium light. I would like it to come on from 19:00 to 0:700 but it stays on all the time.
I put in the code as follows:
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 19:00 to 07:00 then OFF
Any suggestions?

What is the best way to mount Apex components in the sump area? Do the controller and modules need to be in a water box? Can they be mounted to the stand wall in the sump area without water proofing?
-
Plenty of pods in the tank and the fuge. I also supplement. They are actively feeding, fat, dumb and happy.
-
Scott, thank you for setting this up. Picked up an Apex at MACNA and was wondering if we could get such a thread/forum going.

I have a ticket that I would be willing to donate to a wamas member

Just picked up my mated pair of spotted mandarins from ERC. They are beautiful fish! After a period of acclimation, I introduced them to the tank and they almost immediately started eating. After a short period of exploration, they found one another and seem to be quite a happy couple. Can't thank ERC enough!

Lost mine after a day too. Found it in the overflow 6 month later happy as a clam. Put it back in the tank and it was gone again in a day.
