  1. Saw this strangeness happening in my tank last night and I thought I'd share.

One of my rainbow bubbles must have been walking and semi attached to a turbo. Then the turbo took off. Split it in 2. 34568f1da4d44d6e5990a09b87eddf91.jpg

  2. Sure this is posted already but I can't find it. Does anyone have any tricks for getting bubble tips off of rocks. Tried getting under foot with fingers but is hard on rough rocks. Tried ice cube but it melts before any affect. (Maybe need bigger ice cubes). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.post-2635240-147110405049_thumb.jpg

  3. I had purchased a sponge crab about a year ago. I caught it finishing eating my scarface palys. This was after he decided he liked my toadstool leather better than his sponge and swapped them out. I was told they were reef safe but I also found there wasn't a ton of info either. My guy I bought looked like this. A little different than yours. Good luck. post-2635240-146292012985_thumb.jpg

  4. Hello all I have had my "show" tank running for about a year and a half or so. It is. 24" x 24" cube that is 28" tall. I have a mixed reef tank. Hammers, torches, toadstools, birds nest, tricolor acro, 3 rainbow rose bubbles and multiple Zoas and palys. The meat of my lighting is a 4 bulb t5 smack in the middle, doesn't cover entire tank. And I have a reef capable current orbit led in the front and a marineland old reef capable in the back. My parameters are all within balance, tank has very low bioload. I am just not seeing a terrible amount of growth anywhere in the tank with the hard corals. And only under or near the t5s with the softies and some monties. Any suggestions? I am currently thinking about buying the hydra 26. I have almost no experience with any other lights. Would the be suitable or think I should go larger? Pics are attached. Thank you for your help.

  5. Need help. My goby has a 2 small red sores on its belly and he is not acting right. Lethargic and not eating that much. Treated with Melafix with no success. Any advice for an antibiotic for treatment? I am at a loss of what to do. I should note my chances of actually catching him are low. Any recommendations for a treatment. He is in a tank with invertebrates and corals. Thanks all.

  6. Hmm. I had the urchin in a tank half the size of the current one with rocks full of coraline which he never kept up with eating. It is a tuxedo urchin the size of a quarter. Would magnesium get depleted faster than calcium? I suppose I need to get a mag tester.

  7. A little tuxedo urchin. i don't think he is eating it all. I have added several sps corals over the past few months. More like 5 or 6 that all seem to be growing. And a torch, octospawn, and some really large leathers.

  8. Have a 70 gallon tank with 20 gallon sump. We have a very low bioload. 4 small fish. All types of corals and all seem to be doing well. We are waiting several months to do water changes and when we do it is 5 gallons.

Nitrates are consistently zero. Phosphates are 0.25. Calcium is 520 and alk is 214.

Initially we started with half fully coralline covered rocks from an old tank and coralline started growing on the other new rocks. Within the last month almost all has disappeared. We are dosing with reef fuel. I am figuring that some mineral I need is depleted from lack of water changes but can't put my finger on what. Any suggestions would be great.

    Thank you.
