  1. Oy. Make sure you're using Apex Fusion to setup the WXM. It's very similar to the ReefLink web interface. When people talk about the difficulty in setting up the Apex I can only assume they've not tried Fusion. It's a 100% GUI that requires zero coding. Below is what the control screen for my WXM:

  2. I've had the WXM controlling my XR15 since last October and I've never had an issue with it. The presets don't have fancy names like the ReefLink but it still controls the light just fine. Not sure what Eddie means by controlling the color but you have 0-100% range for each of the colors and one for overall intensity.

  3. Cool, I think they are probably one in the same. The yoga mats are probably a little bit thicker, and for some reason, I seem to like that idea more. No rhyme or reason there. Last thing I want is coming home to 100 gallons of water on the floor, so trying to plan everything so I can have it when I start setting up.

Probably a good idea. My tank is only 20.

  4. Nice and clean, just how I like it! You can daisy chain all of that if you want to cut down on cords coming from the EB8. Fusion is great and will for 90% of what you need. Good luck!

  5. I've been running XF130 for a little over a month and it's great.

    Whats your setting?

    - Still running other pumps?

Just my return, which is pretty powerful for this size tank (about 30x turnover)

    - tank size?

    20G (18"x18"x16")

    - Corals condition?

LPS & softies have grown accustomed to it; all of my SPS are extended, happy and growing. I have a stylo right in front of the outlet and the PE on it is insane

    - What settings are you running on what size tank?

I have the unit mounted vertical in the back rear corner. I'm using the A-A paddle combination, in Alternating Gyre mode with 50% forward and 30% backward

    - What angle are you turning your fins too?

Forward motion angle is a few degrees from being parallel with the side glass, the backward motion angle is similarly positioned in relation to the false wall

    - Sand bottom? or coral or bare?

Using CaribSea Aragonite sea floor grade; it got kicked up a bit in the begging but has settled down; I did add a couple of small pieces of LR to keep craters from forming in the corners of the tank

    - Any relocation of corals or moving rocks?

    see above

    - Wow, its loud after 60% mode - does it break in after a bit and quite down.. mine did a little.. i think or i went def.

Mine ran sort of loud at the beginning but is dead silent now. The only time mine is loud is if something gets into the cage.

    - have you tried the alt gyre blades, etc?

    Yes, see above. Love it.

There's something off between the durability of the paddles and the sensitivity of the error notification. I had a dwarf cerith get in there and it broke the paddle.

    Holler.

Looks good! I think 8 is to small too once you start falling in love with corals that want to grow!

Definitely. Beyond just the physical space, the water volume severely limits the selection of appropriate fish. Even at 17g (actual water volume), there aren't many options.

I picked up a maxima clam today from Marine Scene. I will post some pics tomorrow.
