  1. I just broke down my 40B so I have been through your thought process. 1st run a sump! Its the best way to keep things simple and clean. 2, a 20 gallon tank worked great. Build your own chambers to make sure you can do what you want with your tank. 3, EVERGROW lights are great. Talk to richard from ERC about it, I ran the 32" model for reference. 4, a hang on over flow is ok, some dont like them. I had one from CPR with a aqua lifter pump and it worked great. And lastly if your going to build a stand build it bigger than you need. The extra room is great!!! Just my 2 cents though, and dint forget to do a build thread.

This was a few months ago and has grown to this.

Apparently I can grow sps and they do like LEDs.

On another note I realize I learn stuff every day in this hobby. A month ago I got a beautiful coral banded shrimp. It was my first one. Today I came home and saw his lifeless body laying on the sand bed against a rock. I couldn't believe he died. They as I was looking around the tank I saw him, sitting behind his favorite rock. Lol I guess I forgot that they molt and shed their skeletons.

  3. So about 3 months ago I decided I wanted a mandarin fish. Marco and I talked and he reassured me that the changes I made to my system to support him were sufficient and that when I was ready to let him know. Well a month or so ago he posted about a psychedelic mandarin he had in QT. The first time I saw the little guy I had to have him. The little guy came to me beautiful looking and in great shape. Some mandarins are malnourished when you purchase them but my little guy wasn't. Plus Marco had him eating LRS frozen food too. I have see him pick at little bits of it here and there but he also loves his pods. I can not express how important it is to buy good quality QT fish. Mandarins are picky eaters and with Marcos QT process and diligence my fish is healthy and will live a long happy life with me. Thank you ERC for going the extra mile for all of us.

  4. I just hope you stay away from the references to two girls one cup. Everytime I see your build thread bad images come to mind.

And now I'm having a flash back of my buddy puking in the fire house after seeing this. Lol

  5. Lol. Chuck maybe soon. Marco I'm glad you like it. I was worried it wouldn't be a fancy as some of the other sumps on here. You can't see them but 2,500 pods went into the system to give it a huge boost to the population I already had.

  6. Been over two months since I did an update so I figured I would give one. Not much has changed except I built a new sump (thanks Marcos) to accommodate my new psychadelic mandarin. Anyways here are the pics.

Here's a acro I got from the frag swap, it was brown and looked dead when it went in. Now it looks like this, it's my first sps and it's apparently alive and well.

  7. I have been trying to figure this out for awhile and can't seem to find the answer or look in the right spot. I'm building a new sump and want to have a way to quickly remove and replace my mag pump. I want to keep everything hard plumbed like it is now. Any ideas?
