  1. They are the best!!! I keep them on a rock at the bottom of the tank. They don't seem to like direct light. Most stay where they are put, but some do move. Not as aggressive as the BTA. If you have enough, they spawn in the tank which is awesome!

They also do get pretty big. This is my oldest one, about the size of my palm.

  2. Thanks for the Zoa pack. I am very satisfied. All look healthy and happy. They were packaged extremely well. I did a coral dip as always and there was absolutely nothing extra tagging along! Great job Supreme Reefs!

  3. If you can use it, I've got a medium box of previously live rock/coral that you can have. It's been sitting outside for months, so its not "live" rock and would require a thorough cleaning and then need to be made "live" in your tank. I'm in Annapolis.

  4. I checked HD, Lowes, and Harbor Freight in Glen Burnie with no luck. The harbor freight set seemed pretty coarse and I didn't trust it. I ended up ordering a set from Amazon. Price was right and shipping was quick.

  5. I really like your rock work! It's a good looking scape.

Your tank set up and situation is very similar to mine in tank age, equipment (HOB's, no sump), and livestock. I also bother Vince and Steve, but I think they like it :)

I splurged on a Tunze ATO which made keeping my tank so much easier. Worth every penny.

  6. To clarify, I'm putting on the tee's because that is what I've seen online. I assumed that they are the first fitting on the outside in order to provide an easy way to clean the drain pipes (???).

The easiest, as well as the lowest profile, first exterior fitting would be an 90 (inverted L) attached to the bulkhead, but I don't see that being used in most examples I've seen online.

I have bought a boatload of different fittings and have found that to make the first connection detachable in order to facilitate the possible replacement of a bulkhead gasket and not 8" long with all the adapters (dont want it that far from the wall), I will need to purchase another 1" slip - thread bulkhead vs. the slip-slip BH I have. Plan to make first connection threaded Bulkhead to thread-thread connector to threaded tee. Does this seem right?

Apologize if this is confusing in the way I am describing it.

Are you planning to use elbows for the inside of the drains' bulkheads? I didn't see them in your diagram. Using them helps keep the water level above your primary drain and just under your emergency drain. Point the primary drain's elbow down and the emergency drain's elbow up.

Yes I plan to use 90 elbows inside the overflow box, 1 up, 1 down. The emergency drains height will be adjusted up with a piece of PVC pipe inserted into 90 if necessary.

  7. Next question on the Herbie- drain bulkheads are going to be connected to "tees". Does the top tee cap get glued or is it supposed to be only dry fit? Kinda confused by the "full syphon" concept. The cap must be air tight, right, but on the Dursos, they drill holes.

  8. Thanks Crob and Adam! The explanation makes sense. BTW, it wasn't the IC frags that I was referring to. Those frags were so sweet! Multiple polyps (10-12) on a cut piece of rock. Thanks again!

The ones I was curious about are fragments that are the size of a singular zoa polyp (not high end), which as you described, would have resulted in a very high carnage rate if deliberately cut that way. I thought perhaps they were mounted in a two step process- polyp to fragment to frag plug which didn't make sense to me in time, cost, and effort. Thanks for the replies.
