  1. ==> ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE: <<==

WAMAS Winter 2015 Meeting - Oakton High School - January 24th, 2015 (Saturday)

The Winter Meeting of The Washington Area Marine Aquarist Society (WAMAS) will be on Saturday Jan. 24th, 2015, 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Oakton High School, 2900 Sutton Road, Vienna, VA 22181. Go in through Door 5.

We always do MD meetings, when are we going to have some in VA for a change?!?!?

  2. I agree... I have a gopro with waterproof case if you need it John.

If we do balloon animals, can we make them G rated?? (LOL)

I agree with Alan.  I want a video tour of Copp's tank......

And we should probably bring balloon animals for his kids.

  3. You should let her have the 200g. That will make her happy!

It really was a great experience.  I wish I had the bandwidth to volunteer for it - but was thankful I was able to attend.  It really was a blast.

I also appreciated the raffle tickets.  It made it much easier to keep track of.  It was funny thinking that with 125 tickets "surely I will win something" and then walking into where they were calling out numbers and seeing everyone's tickets spread out like playing cards in their hands.  Thoughts quickly went to "We don't stand a chance".  My 6 year old was super bummed that she didn't win the biocube.  Winning the 200 made up for it for me but not her!  Go figure.

I doubt I will be in San Diego next year but would be willing to make the drive to the next east coast event thanks to the great experience this year!

  4. I had a very enjoyable time. Pack out was long and my feet still hurt. So much stuff left after vendors left. I don't know how much dirty smelly salt water I had splashed or dripped. Not to mention the hose spray from helping water removal.

I still have that smell of wet twizzlers haunting me.

Thank you for the help and friendships made.

    -Larry Johnson

  5. If you look at my WebCam: worm5406.from-md.com:83 you will see the 120 on the left the 180 in the center and then a 55g on the right. Where the 55, and the RODI, is located, is where the 265 and stand will go. All three tanks will be up and running. Yes the water will be available to all of them.

265 is 7 foot and that wall is 8 foot.

    I ordered a LifeReef CaRx.

  6. Yeah.. I know...  Adding in a QT and such will push me close to 800 gallons.

I am making a mixing station that has 2x 200g 6 foot tall storage stations. One for RODI and one for SW-Mix. That way I can also do daily water changes

Uuugh... when does it end? I think I see the abyss ahead. LOL

  7. Dang man, sorry to hear. I was hoping that was going to make it. Nice vid. Love the bristeworm at about a minute that makes it's way across your frame, and then gets featured in the next series. That's a monster, but the music is so soothing, I'm not sure how to feel about it!

HAHAHA Yeah that is a long one. There is one that stays in the back that is bigger.

Cant believe your bristleworm is tame! mine hide.

Mine are real tame, I can put my hand in there and they come up to me and rub against me. Just kidding on the last part, but mine have no problem in the day.

Sorry to hear about the nem :(

And get rid of that crazy worm! It's so longgggggg

Yeah the GIG was going to be a center piece of my 120g tank, It is better though. Plus I did not infect/affect anything int he 180g DT/

Sorry for your loss of the nem!!!

    Thanks!
