I think I remember reading that the Chesapeake was the most productive bay in the world until we trashed it, but I'm sure that plenty of zooplankton remains, and it has now been genetically selected to handle higher nutrient levels!
sad but very true. never thought of it like that.

this is one of the best rock scapes ive seen on here. nice work. looks really natural.

ive had peppermints before in my old tank and they didnt touch them. is this why you have to buy so many? theres literally only two in my tank and it would seem ridiculous to buy this many for a 10 gal nano. i want to go the injection route but i dont know how to find the needles. the kalk paste trick is next in line i guess

bobbit...twist it...pull it...new high score

I have a laser that would do the trick
well elkridge actually isnt that far from me if you wanna play with your laser beam in my tank i would be much obliged haha. i have horrible luck with those kinds of toys. would probably end up burning my house down.

the colony is kinda small more of a frag still i guess only about 30 small polyps.
-
its not big enough to inject yet. where do you get the needles to do this anyways.

how do i kill one aptaisia in the middle of a zoanthid colony without harming the colony?

and everyone says dolphins are so smart...
just kidding people. i like when the chubby guy strips down to his speedo

11 months seems alot longer than what i have been reading. i thought it was more like two months. there is a stage of the parasite that will lay dormant in your tank for a while. so even if you qt'd new fish, the parasite could still attack the fish if you add them before the parasite completely dies off. thats just what ive read. IMO i think ich can be in your tank and as long as your fish are healthy to begin with and have nothing to stress them out, there immune systems can fight it off. im sure plenty of people will disagree with that tho.

I got a coral banded shrimp once and my fire tore him limb from limb....his arms just came right off.
my fire fish did this to mine in my old tank the day after i put him in. i have a gold one now and he doesnt bother anything. only comes out a lot at night though.

i see this on my rocks but something in my tank must eat it because it never gets a chance to grow much before its back to just a few strands. with my luck ill be an RTA farmer in no time.

oh... if you are using those api tests then it might be 0. i know what you mean

ammonia? sounds like it hasnt fully cycled. pretty heavily stocked already, maybe try using some prime to detoxify the ammonia.

thats kinda your call. if it works and your water parameters are good than keep it (dont fix it if it aint broke). i know ive heard mixed feelings on the bio balls. some people say they trap detritus and eventually contribute to higher nitrates. but as long as you maintain the filter pad above it, should work fine. on the other hand im sort of a bozo with filters so i might not be helping much
-
yup thats normal.
-
wow thats awesome.

So, feed them at night and when the lights are out for now.
In case you haven't noticed yet - clown fish can be weird. And, when they stop this weird behavior, they'll probably start another one.
haha almost as weird as boxers (dog)

just went through all the flicker photos. thats awesome how you kept taking pics, and seeing how many times your tank changed. how many times did you rearrange your rock? haha. im definitely going to remember to take pics of my tank once a month now. sick tank by the way.
Moved to florida
in Welcome to WAMAS: FAQ / FYI / Hobby News
I haven't posted on here in yrs. I moved to south Florida and have more dry rock than you could ever imagine. It's everywhere all different sizes. I don't know if I can ship it to you guys if you want some without being a paid member. I don't want money. Just to cover the shipping. A few people helped me out when I was in md and I just wanted to pay it forward. Not trying to make any waves if this was wrong to post here. I don't need a saltwater aquarium anymore I just swim out to the reef
