It shook really bad here as well. We are only about 25 minutes from the center location. Anna called me at work and said a bunch of stuff fell off the wall and out of the cabinets and broke. She said the 265 rock work got rearranged and a lot of broken corals. Then she went downstairs to the fish room and discovered lots of water on the floor. The sump was dry so i told her to unplug the return pumps. I came home, cleaned all water up filled the sump and cant find no leaks. Its been 2 hours and no more water on the floor. Just got done half a$$ing the rock work in the 265. I will be re aquascaping this weekend. No damage to the foundation or wall of the house. Just glad to hear that everyone is O.K.. Now get ready for the possibility of some nasty weather this weekend from the hurricane.

I had a Tasseled File Fish. It did latch onto Acro's at night. I did not like it doing that so i got rid of him. Very cool fish though.

When i go to buy frozen fish food i always take a cooler and ice packs. I always just break off a piece of the frozen, it breaks pretty easy.
-
If i am understanding correctly, you are putting the bag of food in the aquarium to thaw and then you refreeze it? If so your food is bad. Just like most frozen products, once they thaw they should not be froze again. Just my .02.

FTS needed Lynn.
I wish i could get a decent FTS. Mine alway turn out crappy. Guess i will start practicing, maybe i will get lucky.

lynn, did you get the red from me by any chance?
No, got it from lanman ( Bob ). If you need some i have plenty.

I have a red and a green. Both have really long polyp extension. The thing to watch for is the sweepers at night. Some of mine are 3" long.

Ours gets lots of light and the only food it gets is what ever it get when i feed the fish. Our RBTA goes back and forth with bubbles and then no bubbles. It has gone as long as a couple months with no bubbles and then there they are.

Thanks Tom. I am very pleased the way things are looking. The tank is recovering from a PH crash a few months ago. The orals are coloring up nicely and i am getting really great growth.

A few pics from the 265 display and frag tanks. Total system approx. 550 gallons.

Also wanted to add that my house thermostat stays at 69 all year. My basement probably stay a cool 60 in the summer so this helps. I dont run a heater in the winter either and my temp stays 80 to 82.
-
My system runs between 80 and 82. I have 5 250 watt MH, 14 39 watt T-5's and 2 160 watt VHO's. 3 of the 250's, 8 39 watt T-5's, and the 160 watt VHO's run during the day on the display and the other lights run at night in the fish room downstairs. Its a total of approx 550 gallons on the system. I am comfortable with the temps being at 82.

My nitrates are around 10. The colors are really good and i have great PE. I hve read and also been told by some reefers that have tanks i could only dream of having that some nitrates are good for the corals. I guess its like anythin else, its O.K. in moderation.

Very nice build.

It was rough here. No power outage.

Do you have an address?
I want dibs on first frag available on that coral.
Who felt that?
in General Discussion
We had another aftershock at 8:05 P.M.. It measured 4.2. I was not home for the big one today, but i can tell you the 4.2 really shook the house and knocked a few more pictures off the wall.
