  1. One step forward, the tank was delivered today and soon will be getting this up and running. Still not able to put any weight on my leg so it is making things a little difficult but on the way to recovery. I will provide more details as it is moving along. Working on having the plumbing completed next Wednesday.

  2. Been a little while since I took some pics, added a few things and there has been some pretty good growth.

For some comparison a FTS from 6/15/09. I know it is hard to see in the pics, but believe me there is some growth and good colors...:-)

    Thanks for looking,

  3. Hope you enjoy the light.

I would just reduce the time the 10k are on. When I put this set up on my tank, I had actinics run normal and then had the 10k for 3 hours for 3 to 4 days and increased it by one hour every 3 to 4 days until I got to the number of hours I wanted the 10k lights on.

  4. Thanks.

yeah, i've done a few power outage tests so it won't happen in the sump. I just didn't know if the skimmer pump sucks in more gunk at a much lower level or higher level.

I remember reading something where skimmers perform better at a certain level in the tank but I wasn't sure.

Hmmm...wish I could help you on that one. I haven't seen anything on that. I had a skimmer about 6-7 inches up on a platform that performed the same as when i moved it to another set up and was only about 1-2 inches up on a platform.

  5. Well my daughter once again won. She doesn't have to twist my arm to hard... :-). She wanted me to take a pic and share them.

She named one Angie Brooke (front one) and my son named the other one Robinson Robert (back one..(i have no clue where the first names are from, they both used their middle names))

They were eating within 5 minutes of putting them in the tank.
