  1. A number of things to think about here:

    1. It is TV, they cut a lot of the setup stuff. We are not seeing all the prep. It is like things are magically happening. Welcome to the magic box!

    2. These people (home or business owners) do not maintain their own tanks. They have someone doing this, and they are paying several hundreds a month for performance (ie: healthy fish=the experience they are paying for)

    3. These people are NOT going to accept dead fish. They WILL call the "fish guy" (Rob?) and demand he removes the fish. So, the worry about dead fish with these tanks are way overblown.

    4. Tension is the name of the tune in reality TV. Lots of over blown stuff, over acting, and other made for TV stuff. This is TV after all.

  2. Polyfilter solves a multitude of sins. Worth the small investment. If the pad turns blue, you know you have copper. But, it soaks up so many things, that if you are having problems, it will help. Can't hurt!

  3. Down to Equipment. All livestock is sold.

I need to prepare to move, so I am getting out of the hobby for now.

90 Oceanic RR gallon glass tank, nice white stand, and acrylic sump. Includes 7 month old Eheim 3000 Compact+ Aquarium Pump 396-793GPH. Very quiet setup and looks really nice!. Very few scratches.

  4. The only coral available is Blue Montipora Digitata. I bought it as an ORA Blue Digi. It has nice blue polyps. I am looking for $10/frag and I have 2 frags. More information please see here.

I think I am about to sell all the LR. So the Digi is all I have left.

Of course, I have the tank, stand, sump, pump, and lights, protein skimmer available.

  5. Dano. Sorry, I do not get east much. And I am no relation to the NY MP.

    Foxface is SOLD!

Also, I have a RBTA and 3 Ocellaris clowns for sale. $80.

The LR is very nice, full of sponges (yellow and "goose liver"), small corals, zoas, and mushrooms. This is terrific rock for the price. I still have several large (10# or so) pieces, along with nice smaller pieces. Included in the LR is "spun glass" rock that is supper low density.

  6. Most all of the corals are gone.

    Here is what is left:

    - Tricolor frag - 3" with many branches - $15

    - GSP rock - golf ball size - $10

    - Pink digi frag - LARGE grouping - $15

    - Mushroom rock - $15

    - snails - $.75 each. Many different kinds - Turbo, margarita, cerths, etc.

All fish are still for sale.

LR is going for $1/lb to $3/lb depending on quality. Most all is $1/lb. I do have GHA, but it is not overwhelming. I probably have close to 200 lbs available.

Live sand is free with purchase.

  7. I am wanting to buy the coral buy the coral beauty and the engineer goby if they are still available. I imagine you aren't going to the frag fest so pick up may be an issue. I may also be interested in buying your tank. Do you have a sump with that? Thanks

    Dano,

    All fish are still available.

The tank comes complete with Tank, lights, sump, pump, plumbing and stand. Only the thing you might need is the skimmer.

  8. I need to prepare to move, so I am getting out of the hobby for now.

  9. Can someone tell me what this is:

    scrollcoral.jpg

Sorry for the bad picture. It is the best I have been able to take.

It does not look like a Montipora Capricornis

Kind of looks like a Turbiniaria Reniformis, but the polyps are wrong

    Ideas?

  10. I have a small colony of purple Milli that is turning green. I have another green milli, and now my purple looks just like the green one. The purple milli has been in the tank for 9 months.

I have 6 T5 lights on my 90. The bulbs are 1 year old, and I am seeing a lot of color shifting. I am assuming that is what is going on. Thoughts?

  11. As much as I like this pressure switch, it has a major problem: the air tube pulls off the switch too easy. I was moving around electric wires, and it came off. Thank God I noticed it after a couple of hours. I am not sure what can be done about it, but it is a problem.
