  1. Hello,

I have a 40g breeder and I'd like a screen lid. I know about and I have put together the kits from BRS. However, this tank has a rim with 2 Radions XR15's mounted w/ an arm bracket on the back frame, so the lid would not fit squarely. I've seen the kits with cut outs, and am a little confused. Do I buy 3 cut outs to go around each arm along the back? Or any other ideas?

    Thank you,

Can you not just pull the nozzles off from the front and pull the pump out with the tubing attached? At least that's how I do it in my IM 25g Lagoon (with stock pump). Maybe pictures can help visualize the problem a little better. Not sure how you need to unscrew the return tube.

No, I can’t. The pump is not stock and slightly bigger. It had to be lowered in side ways and ensembled to the tubing once in the chamber.  It does not fit ensembled, that’s the problem - once it was esembled in the chamber I can’t un ensemble it.

  3. Hello,

I have IM Nuvo 40g that I replaced the pump a couple of years ago. The new pump was slightly bigger then the stock pump and when I put it in it was too big so it had to be tilted/lowered in and then I could screw on the return hose. The pump would not go in with the return hose attached and facing in the right direction. So, I put the pump in, screwed on the return tube with my hand/arm down in the chamber. When it came time to service the pump I could not unscrew the return tube from the pump (at the base of the pump in the chamber with my hand down it) to get the tube off. The tube has to come off before the pump can come out. The chamber is about 20inches deep. At first I thought it was just stuck or I wasn't strong enough so I had a guy (big guy) friend come over and he couldn't unscrew it either. Fast forward to a year later and the pump really needs to be cleaned and almost has no flow at all. Not surprising at all. My question is - Does anyone have any ideas that I'm not thinking of? My first thought was get someone stronger to help, that didn't work. My second thought is to cut the intake tub off and replace it. But does any one have any ideas on how to go about that safety and/or tool suggestion? The space is so limited and the chamber is all glass. I couldn't get my hand plus a wrench or something down there. The tank is not empty, it is up and running -  just poorly.

    Thanks,

  4. Thanks for the info, couple of quick question,

1.What temps do you keep them at?

  5. Hey, thanks so much for all the info, I've been at work all day and wasn't able to check this till now. I appreciate all the info and the video's. I found a facebook group that is adamant that they be kept on mud. I'm having some issues with that and wanted to know what you guys thought. I'd love to mimic there natural habitat but the mud is a lot more detailed then I thought. If you get some time I would love to see a video of the entire set up and how you have the water area rigged. By the way this is a set up for Indian dwarfs in a 40g Breeder

    Thanks,

  6. It depends on how dirty your old sand is. Sometimes its good to use the old sand for the beneficial bacteria but if it’s too dirty it can pollute the tank. Maybe use half of it and 1/2 new

  7. That's it, looking for your opinion?? I know most stores can order almost anything but I still like to go to the store and see the fish before I buy it. I've really been into my nano lately and looking to add a new fish. (currently no fish) 5g Fluval Evo.

    Thanks

  8. Hey guys,  Any info on the these guys you are willing to share? Anyone have one? From the research I've done ppl say:

    1. You hardly ever see them, disappear for weeks. I'm ok with this as I'm just going to do a desktop nano of some sort. I already have a Fluval Spec 3 set up but not sure if that's to small, I might upgrade it.

    2. They do better in small tanks. How small ? I don't wanna go too small but I'd like to see it every once in awhile but also want it to be "comfortable".

    3. Bigger fish/shrimp will/can eat them. Mines going to be a species only tank.

    4. Jumpers - so I know I need lid

    5. Carnivores but will eat a variety of foods.

    Anything else I should know?

    Thanks,

  9. Hey,

I have an IM Nuvo 40g.  I also have a BSJF who jumped through the stock mesh lid. I saw him jump but not from which he came, I don't know if it was the side gaps or clear mesh holes. Regardless he can get through the stock lid. Is the Artfully Acrylic top my best option to keep him in? Right now it is rigged with a piece of screen across the whole tank hanging over the sides with weights on it to hold it in place, but I don't want it like that long term. Any thoughts? I can't tell from the post and videos I've seen if the artfully tops cover the entire tank.

    Thanks,

PS - I have seen the DIY lids but I'm not sure about those, that's why Im asking what you guys think

  10. Hey, sorry I know this is off topic but I have searched it and cant find the answer. I have both salt and freshwater tanks but was wondering that In a freshwater tank is DC tap water safe, as long as I use something like Prime or another dechlorinator?? Or should I stick with RODI? Or the waste water from a RODI unit?

    Thanks,
