Anyone running a DaStaco Calcium Reactor??

First off, yea they are freaking expensive. But when you factor in all the equipment to run a calcium reactor it’s not that much different. 

 

Were talking an Apex - $800, Geo 818 with secondary Chamber $800, carbon doser $300, second PH probe $75. 

 

They both require media and a CO2 tank. 

 

However with the Dastaco there is no effluent, calibration, or having to mess around with it. 

 

Im just wondering if anyone in the club is running one and what their thoughts are on the unit.

I have something similar.  Check out the Pacific Sun Calcium Reactors.  There is an extensive thread at Reef Central.  Much cheaper than dastaco.  I run an AC mini on my 100 gal tank.  Customer service is also outstanding.

I am about to build my own reactor and am curious about finding a way to make it like that style so I don't have to have a controller ever.
