astroboy October 29, 2018 Share October 29, 2018 After Bob Fenner's good talk last week I decided to dig up my old UV sterilizer and use it again on my 90 gallon setup. I was wondering, what is a reasonable flow thru a UV sterilizer? Mine is 24 inches long with a 24 watt blub. Anyone have a ballpark figure on a good GPH rate? Thanks! scott711 October 29, 2018 Share October 29, 2018 It depends on your goal. If your goal is to eliminate parasites the max flow will be lower than if you are just wanting to us it to kill algae. https://www.livingreefs.com/threads/introduction-to-uv-sterilizers.431/ https://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?articleid=

Origami November 1, 2018 Share November 1, 2018 AquaUltraviolet has (for years) had a PDF sizing chart for fresh and saltwater aquariums that you could download. Take a look: http://www.aquaultraviolet.com/drupal/sites/default/files/brochures/UV Charts Salt and Fresh Water.pdf I'll even attach it to this post (just in case they ever move it and kill the link).
