Hmmm....you could easily fit a 200g tank in that room....

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, lol! Carpet nems gone. I am traveling a lot, one less thing to worry about, you know, covering up the overflow. It ain’t all bad with small, I’m learning a lot about how to make do with a little space!

Wow! you once again have done a great job with this nano peninsula. I have to say that you are brave to put a carpet anemone in there. I would not be able to sleep at night if I had that in my nano.  Anyways reading through all the posts made me miss my nana...maybe I need to set up one too.

Hey Dip! Thanks for stopping by, and for the kind words!

The carpet has been removed. I’ve spent enough time around to heed caution and advice from our WAMAS members! It looks a little empty now, but once things grow out more I won’t even remember it!

I fully support a nano, but I think your tank is already fantastic!

I saw the FS thread for the anemone and I think that was the right decision. I have seen your previous tanks fill up in no time so based on that I know in next couple month this tank will look full with growing corals.

Yep. I've been known to get impatient, haha.

A quick update since power loss/travel/life after a few weeks. All fish survived. Some corals did not. I lost a big purple slimer, another acro I did not know what it was, I'll have to look at my list, and some of my other acros lost a lot of color, but have started to bounce back. I lost my almost 10 headed frag of Utter Chaos that was starting to take off really nice. The Forrest Fire Digi have almost bounced back one hundred percent, and most of the sand has been removed.

This is great news. I am glad to hear that everything except couple of acros is doing well. Love the latest pics

Alright, broke out the DSLR. No more sand. Minimal algae on the glass (sans bottom) and I'm starting to see coraline on the bottom already. Everything goes to plan, the bottom will be a zoa grow out as well. GSP kind of just sat in the corner, starting to take off, will need to move it soon.

I see some algae right there. ^

Haha. If you look at the post from 3/12 and you look at the picture from the end looking down, you'll notice all the algae on the inside of the glass. With the tank being right by my "office" it really get's a lot of attention. I clean the glass daily, I shut off all the pumps for about 45 minutes and spot feed as I'm grabbing lunch, or taking a break. I'm doing my best to keep my hands out of it, so my weekly water changes usually involve putting my hands all in the tank with a razor and cleaning the sides, which is not helping.

Things are growing. And fast. Usually when I come back from a business trip, the glass can't be seen through, but the inside is looking better than ever.

The hardest part right now is not putting anything else in there.

I had a teeny outbreak of cyano on my zoanthid rock. I figured it wasn't getting enough flow, and a lot of the frozen I was feeding and other junk was settling amidst it all. Now that I have a bare bottom tank, I can see the areas that all the detritus and junk go to, and it's in the back of the tank. I skipped a water change this week, so I'll probably do one today and get all the junk out. I also noticed last night because I finally cranked on my MP10, and the amount of debris that went flying everywhere meant that I should have done it a long time ago. Cleaned out the skimmer cup, nice and coffee like. Once my nano flipper gets here I'll clean the glass and take some pictures.

wow, the tank has changed dramatically over that time.  Now you just have to step back and not add anything and let it grow :)

Finally getting some good skimmate. I've been traveling a lot, so tank has been on auto pilot. Looking back on old photos, things are growing tremendously fast, just doesn't seem to feel like it. I did a water change, and had a hard time not bumping into everything, so it's very full. Something went on a rampage last night, as this morning a lot of my plugs had been knocked off the rock. Don't know what it was, but did a bit of gluing before I water changed, that'll probably set everything back a few weeks after being tinkered with. I've had a few anemones split, and picked up a few more. Including RFL there are 12 anemones in my tank! In hindsight, I would like to just do an anemone tank, but I have already committed to a certain direction of mixed reef.

After having various corals getting stung on the "sand bed" aka. Floor, I decided that I had the tank packed a little too full. Starting to move some stuff out, but also creating frag packs and getting some zoanthids out there in case anything goes south.

Good news is, cyano has died out. I started feeding only frozen, did my best to clean off the rocks daily, and a big very detailed rock water change was done. Never say never, but so far it's been great.
