Winding down on my dino and red algae outbreak. You can see some dying dinos left on the overflow. What's also strange is the rock in the back. It was almost completely unaffected by the outbreak:

3 months in, and I’ve dealt with cotton candy algae, dinos, and today what do I see? AEFW bite marks on my BC Rainbows in Spain acro. Gimme a break! Of course it happens the day before a week long vacation and after I glued a few down. I’ve only bought acros from 3 sources so far. My coral QT isn’t running yet so now it’s in the display.

Looks like you have a really nice assortment of wrasses in there, they should eat the flatworms if I’m not mistaken. Great looking tank man!

Yeah but that isn’t enough. I’m going to start pulling and get one Melafix dip in before we leave tomorrow. Apparently it’s more effective than Bayer for AEFW.

Sad pic:

It really exploded after I got rid of all the cyano. I nuked it with Chemiclean. The cyano really started to get out of hand.

It's looking good, Warren! You put so much work into selecting components. I'm glad that it's all coming together.

Merry Christmas to me! A regal angelfish that eats! So far he really only likes LRS. Everything else gets only a peck or is refused. He is still in quarantine til I’m confident he will eat fast enough in the display tank. All my fish in there are ravenous when it comes to feeding time.

I love the misbar too. That was a nice bonus.

There’s always something... I promoted the regal to the display tank since he has been eating so well. The desjardini that I rescued from a local reefer has not taken so lightly to the new guest. I am going to need to catch him and demote him to the frag tank.

I’m also concerned that the desjardini will go aggro on a copperband that I have in QT.

Update: got him! Ended up changing my lighting to all red at night. He could still see, but not as well. Eventually, he accidentally swam into the net!

Latest fish additions

Misbar yellow belly regal. He’s got a little lympho from QT stress, but he made it out and he is eating LRS!

Majestic angel. This guy is tiny and he is a little beaten up from QT.

A flame wrasse at last. Now I just need a lineatus that doesn’t have uronema... I’ve had 2 die from it this year. Let’s hope 2019 is better. Of course, my best picture of this jordani fairy wrasse is right behind my reminder of one of my new frags.

Walt Disney in the center. BC Rainbows in Spain on the left. I saved that from all of 2-3 polyps. It had an AEFW infestation.

This is so stressful watching my regal feed in the display. The rest of my fish act like they have not been fed in weeks. They’re ravenous. Meanwhile, the regal might eat what floats by him. I hope he starts eating like he was in QT, otherwise this may turn into a failed attempt. If I see him getting skinny, I may move him back into observation.

I’m jealous. I only want a big tank again one day for a Regal. Plumbed into another tank for zoanthids! I want my cake and eat it too!

Have you tried the old LRS trick of sticking a frozen piece to the glass in a few places?

He would eat about 2 dime size pieces per day of LRS like that in QT. When I put it on the glass in the display tank, I'm not even done sticking it on the glass, and everyone is attacking it. It lasts maybe 2 seconds on the glass before it's ripped off.

Water change time! My salinity is getting low because of my skimmer. Everything it takes out is replaced with RODI. Time to get salinity back on track. It was 1.024-1.025.
