mari.harutunian May 18, 2017 Share May 18, 2017 (edited) Was thinking of making a spherical container that slowly moves mysis and has a hitching posts inside. I currently just put mysis ina glass ball and move water in it with a turkey baster for my seahorses and it is 10x better than broadcast feeding mysis or bowl feeding but still tedious as they are slow feeders. Also glass seems to confuse them sometimes but I want to make sure they feed... Is this doable? I've seen regular bowl seahorse feeders go for $100-$150 which I find ridiculous... sethsolomon May 18, 2017 Share May 18, 2017 (edited) Here is what I made for my seahorses when I had my 104g seahorse tank. It was more of a feeding trough. It cost me about $25-$30 to make. Might give you some ideas. The hard part is making it so you get water flow to the top. An aqualifter probably would do the trick. I have a part of my return line running to the top of it. That's an awesome feeder!!! Love the bubbles in the plastic. I think I'm misunderstanding a bit, but does this move the mysis? Or is it just holding it? My sea horses seem prefer eating when the mysis moves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sethsolomon May 18, 2017 Share May 18, 2017 It tumbled the mysis in the inner circle. Keeping it in a consolidated area. You could make it flow faster or slower based on flow rate through the top. It took a few days for the horses to catch on but then when they were hungry they would just hang out at the feeding post. They are pretty smart critters they will learn quickly if you always feed a specific way. Sent from my SM-G930U using Tapatalk
