discordja March 26, 2006 Share March 26, 2006 I wanted to go out looking for this link after Lee Stearns mentioned it to me yesterday. It's a very good article and hopefully it can remove some of the 'black art' aspects of reef keeping for new and old alike. Written by Randy Holmes, these are all of your major water parameters, what they mean, what your target is, and how to get them there. This is what we are trying to simulate in our aquariums. Water and it's basic chemistry is the most important thng. So without further ado http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.php

So without further ado http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.php It's a good article, very informative, though some recomendations can be debated. One in particular,I found was that he does not recommend controlling ORP, yet states it usefulness as an indirect measure of increased aeration etc. and no direct mention of its use with ozone. But the information that ORP is not a precise measurement is useful. His recommendations of dosing silica are new to me, and seem to be anidotical, but certainly worth looking at. I am not putting it down, it just seems that the recommendations are loaded with a certain amount of personal preference.
