Icecap MH ballast

Do icecap MH ballast have to be calibrated by the factory for different bulbs?  can I go from a 10k bulb to a 20 without any problems?

Some early MH electronics might need a tweak, but the newer units don't appear to need any adjustment.

Hey Ward,

I'm picking up a JEBO 48" PC with 4-55W in them for $95, but I'm looking to add a couple MH later and I'm looking at putting together a 250-400W setup with possibly Reef Optix I Horizontal Pendant with either a Blue Wave I Magnetic Pulse Start Ballast with timer or a Blue Wave VI Magnetic Ballast, have you or anyone else have a suggestion on this? Would IC be better?

I am really new to the MH world.  The icecap I have just ended up as an extra because I got a great deal on 2 pendants.  I might just keep it and sale my pfo and get another icecap.

Ballast may depend heavily on your choice of bulb.

The SE's are nice so you can use a 250 or 400, ballast change of course.

I use the blueline 400's, icecap 250's and the M81 for 150 now and get great flexibility in bulbs.

Cheers.
