Well, that didn't last long...the coral bug hit and it's no longer a FOWLR:

I got most of the pieces from fellow WAMAS members. What a great community.

The 2 puffers don't bother the corals. When I put new pieces in, the burgessi and bicolor do nip a bit initially, probably more out of curiosity, then they leave them alone. The 2 hawks like to perch on all the montis and the gorgs. Not sure if that irritate the corals or not.

It was before the gyre had the apex controller (either that or the apex controller was too expensive). So I went back to the jebaos for more controllability with my apex.

Was there much of a real world difference between the two pumps? I want to like the PP8s but I just cant get over thinking the Gyres wider (potentially, I dont know) flow would be more what I want.

They both move a lot of water. I didn't do a direct comparison between the two, but did enjoy more flow options with the Jebaos hooked up to the apex.

Here's a FTS:

After the RBTA split, the burgessi starting picking on it, which caused it to further split, then I removed it. Got some torches instead. Picked up some sticks too.

The foxface got too big, so I replaced it with this beauty, who is now the king of the tank:

Things are going well. Been accumulating sps frags. Challenge now is where to mount them. I may have to break up that big monti cap that is taking up way too much prime real estate. Fish are fine except for my royal gramma. The hawkfish beat him up pretty bad so I had to remove him. Got a bartlett's anthias in QT now.

Equipment wise - I upgraded to MP40QDs and Radion G3 Pros as well as Turbo's Algae Scrubber and Avast Pegleg 180.

Fish:

Added a male bartlett's anthias:

My valentini puffer (my first tank inhabitant) started losing his eyesight and therefore had difficulty eating. It started to waste away   I was able to seamlessly replace him and none of the other fish even noticed.

This leather was a tiny little guy for over a year, then all of a sudden got a growth spurt:

Montis:

I forgot about this purple rim green monti as it was a tiny little frag that was unmounted and fell behind my rockwork. Look at it now:
