I'd like my new 120g DT to be an SPS dominated tank: mainly acropora and a couple clams. This is a long term goal.  MH really isn't an option for me.  What do I need for lighting?

Here's what I am considering:

  1. Sunlight Supply T5 8 bulb fixture that I am currently not using
  2. Kessil a360s
  3. AI Hydra 52s
  4. Ecotech Radion Gen3s
  5. Orphek Atlantik Pendants V2.1 (new version of the PR72/DIF100)
  6. Other (not familiar with any of the Chinese brands/DIY models)

What would the best choices be?

Running two Evergrow IT-2040's on a 120g, also predominately SPS, since January 2013. Everything grows great and no algae. Some of the SPS are low in the rocks and some sitting on the sand.

I'd recommend the Evergrows or a RapidLED DIY kit. I had the T5 fixture years ago and it was just expensive to replace the bulbs and the one time I forgot to replace them on time and was reminded when I began to have an algae outbreak. Was just a hassle all around, I got a RapidLED DIY kit and it was a built it and forget it situation, all I have to do is check the lenses on my UV lights every year or so to make sure they haven't started degrading but more than two years in and still no issue with that.

Okay, thank s for the help everyone.  I'm leaning towards using LEDs and possibly supplementing with T5s.  I have read that my Sun Blaze 8 bulb fixture might not be the best T5 option because it has no shield and no waterproof end caps.
