Wallys, great live rock and a good price (Figi) good prices on tanks and equipment, great sales staff and location. Healthy corals and a new saltwater person, so the display tanks are looking much better.

 

Marine Scene, super healthy fish and live stock. More expensive high end equipment.

 

Blue Ribbon Koi, great place, great prices far away from "innerbeltway NoVa". John cares about the health of his live stock and is well versed in the care of fish.

 

Super Pets, go to look-nobody in the place will help you. They hate customers, or so it seems. Sick fish. poor live rock. Lots of dry goods.

Stopped by Maru in Fredericksburg on Weds and they are starting to get in a lot of SW fish and corals. I picked up a some Zoa frags and a small mangrove. They were both priced rather reasonably. The fish looked in good heath as well.

jarosh its about time they started looking healthy over the summer they were all sick and stuff there lr is so over priced ultra fiji is 9 bucks a pound ya 9 and light ultra is 11 yup 11 there corals are allright priced and some there fish are ok priced to they recently started to get alot in cause alot of people are getting into the hobby.

Bill that is the same story with most pet stores. 95% of things are overpriced. I mainly visit to look for deals (that remaining 5%) or to check something out before I buy online.

 

The only local exception to the pet store rule has been Blue Ribbon Koi in manassas.

 

If you are looking for live rock the best option would be if somone is selling or just buying on line. Either way it will still be half of what you would pay at a local shop.

i think i was at marus too the other day. it wasnt half bad but the drive from woodbridge took forever and the place was so far out.
