I thought about it. I think the 2 mp10's will be moving so much water that there won't be any surface scum. We will see

I doubt it with their positions in the tank. Without an overflow box it is almost impossible to completely eliminate surface scum. I think this would work great and you could hide it in the black area to the left of the higher mp-10. Just my thoughts. :-)

Tank water finally cleared on Saturday, then I decided to play in the sand and it was terrible. Woke up this morning and back to being 100% clear.

Other than that, no updates.

Looking good, although it's a bit hard to see the tank 100%, place looks nice, and car looks amazing. What's it like living the dream?

No good pics of the tank till coral is in it :)

Cali is amazing. Mid 60's to mid 70's and sunny everyday. Don't think I can ever move back east.

but why is it easier? isn't it harder since you don't really have to feed SPS but you do LPS...otherwise everything else is the same...fish, water level...emergencies etc....i have one of each tank and I don't think its any easier for someone to watch while away...was just curious what I was missing LOL

If the water isn't changed for 15 or 20 days nothing horrible will happen, lol

If your 'friend' over feeds the tank ,except extreme cases, nothing horrible will happen....

And if your temp swings a bit more than normal...LPS don't usually run and stn over it...

Brads an expert reef keeper. He keeps nanos because he actually takes the tanks with him on vacation.
