Noisy Dual reactor pump

I purchased a BRS dual (GFO/Carbon) resctor and from day one, the pump is very noisy.

Can anyone suggest ways to make it run quiet? I have tried cushion with dense sponge but did not work.

 

I have not cut the tubing yet. Would cutting the tubing to make it shorter to the pump help?

Which pump are you running? If it is the maxijet they should be fairly quiet.

Yes, it is the mj1200 that comes with the reactor.

 

It is very noisy and I have never had problems with Maxi's before.
