24 Nano Breakdown---CORAL!

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

My name is Nathan. I just moved from Southern MD (where I was a member of SMMAS) to Manassas. Even after moving my nano that is jam packed with nice stuff I have finally admitted to myself that I have lost interest. I want to start a 75 but am unsure how long I will be in my current apartment. I have lots of frags that I have collected over the last year that are growing nicely. No pests, aptasia, bugs, etc. 150 MH light, no skimmer, RODI w seachem supplements. I had this posted on craigslist for a while and sold a lot of the 'beginner' corals but for some reason now my post isn't showing up anymore when searched, although it is still listed.

I really want to get rid of this stuff (wife says we need to start a Christmas fund) so I am posting here after reading in the forum rules that occasionally one-time 'getting out of the hobby' threads will be allowed for non-members. If this is not OK I understand, just let me know if I should move or remove it. Thanks.

Here is my CL post that isn't showing up:

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/2621751992.html

Since you WAMAS members are great, you can take an ADDITIONAL:

-$10 off the second price for everything currently listed over $50

-$5 off the second price for everything currently listed $20-49

-$3 off the second price for everything currently listed $10-19.

Please call, text, or email to the contact info in the CL post. I wont be able to respond to PMs as easily.

I am off tomorrow (Thursday) and will be home all day.

Thanks all,

Nathan

PS-there really is some nice LPS and SPS here...

I'd like to purchase or trade for a couple of heads from this blasto from whoever gets it. LMK. Thanks

J

it is a massive type not a branching type so it wont frag well. the heads aren't on one plane. Imagine setting a golfball in sand and drawing 13 circles on the part that's not in the sand...that's what it looks like when completely retracted. so even with a diamond saw if you cut out one or two heads you would be destroying several others. sorry...believe me I have looked at it with this intent several times. :)

I know the type. Large heads. Very similar to an acan in structure. It can be fragged with a diamond head. Most LPS's look like they wont frag well, but they do fine. Rob or Bob will know how. The flesh always has to be cut when fragging LPS. I have a smaller head large colony pink blasto that grows semi circular. The way you're describing. It is difficult to frag because of the size of the heads (about the size of a pencil eraser). It does fine with a diamond head and heals incredibly fast. One thing you can be assured of is that these two gentlemen know what they are doing when it comes to fragging, if they choose to frag. Their care for corals is above average as well.

Nice. Good luck! It has been my favorite coral for a year since I got it. Eats like a champ, new heads sprouting all over the place. I hope they can frag it successfully to share the gem.
