OK, we switched from verizon DSL to Comcast for internet and now I'm not getting my daily emails anymore. The only change I made before was to switch the port to 587 and it worked great. Can any comcast users provide some insight. Thanks.

If I change switch settings on one of my DC8's - do I need to do some kind of a reset for it to take effect?

i.e. - if I change it from 'B' to 'C' - (on/off to off/on) - will it take effect immediately?

Thanks,

bob

Mine took effect after I changed it and my named devices.

Mine took effect after I changed it and my named devices.

Must have been a delay of some sort... just tried again, and it seems okay. After I changed it, the AC2 (B02) stayed on... even when it said it was off. For at least 10-15 minutes.

I just setup a fan on my system. I want the Fan to turn on when the temp hits 79.0 and I want it to turn on for 20 minutes afterwards. Is this the correct code for this?.....

If Temp > 79.0 Then FAN ON

Max Change 20 M Then FAN ON

James,

I could be wrong, but shouldn't is say "Max Change 20 M Then FAN OFF"?

I jus got the ACIII and I cant figure out the email notification to work even after reading all the posts here. Can someone help me out?

here are my settings on the ACIII

EMAIL :ON

SMTP Server - SMTP.GMAIL.COM

FROM ADDRESS - MYADDRESS@GMAIL.COM

TO ADDRESS - MYWORKADDRESS@MAIL.NIH.GOV (i want it to send to my phone but i cant fit MYPHONENUMBER@Messaging.sprintpcs.com on the ACIII controller)

ALT TO ADDRESS - N/A

EMAIL AUTH: ON

AUTH USER : my gmail account user name

AUTH PASSWORD - gmail account password

ALARM : ALM

REEMEAIL DELAY : 060 M

SMTP PORT : 25

I already set up my AquaController II network setting, so i can log on to the ACIII through 192.168.0.50. So that part im good to go, its the email setting that i just cant figure out..I did try to change the SMTP port to Google recommended port 465 and its still not working.

Try using your home internet provider's smtp server. If you use comcast, smtp.comcast.net, if you use cox, smtp.east.cox.net. Those servers don't really care what the from and to email addresses are, only that you're on their network when you're sending.

GMAIL does not allow you to send emails via SMTP. So you'll have to find one that does.

Usually, when you set up internet with your home provider (Cable, Verizon, etc) they

give you an email account and revelant SMTP server info or you can search for it.

EG:

I have Verizon Fios.

So Verizon forces you to use their SMTP server to send out emails which is

outgoing.verizon.net . You enter your Verizon's email account credentials

and voila, you are golden.

Craig,

You may want to include some safety lines in there in case your temp probe fails (as they often do). I can't remember what the ACIII registers when a temp probe is unplugged but I think it is somewhere around 29 degrees. My old probe failed and registered around 129 degrees. So maybe add...

If Temp < 35.0 Then HET OFF

If Temp > 110 Then CHL OFF

. . .or something similar.

I have a few questions:

what does this mean? which Switch is it talking about?

If Switch1 CLOSED Then ATO ON

If Switch1 OPEN Then ATO OFF

what is Switch1?

currently i have my ATO connected to ATO#-A08...if i use the statement above will it work for my tank? and how does it work?

also what is this mean? If Power 000 Then ALM ON

Switch1 is a float switch in a break out box.

Because it's labeled ATO doesn't mean it's an ATO brand top off unit. It could just be a powerhead,

If you loose power the alarm will sound.
