  2. Lets see.......how do i start my content......Lets start HERE! I was excited to place an order with SC Aquariums out of California. I was excited because this is my first NEW tank and stand I have ever purchased. My previous 10 years were accompanied with used tanks. Originally i was going to place this order back in May but Covid19 delayed my ordering a few months. Steve (owner) was very patient while i kept him up to date on emails. Fast forwarding to early September, I received my order (tank, stand, and canopy). After taking delivery, there was damage caused by Saja freight during shipping. Luckily to tank damage at all! A good size gouge in the stand and one side of the canopy looked like it was rubbing against a vibrating wall as it made its way across the country to VA. It wore down the moldings and broke some off as well. I reported this to Steve and he was successful in filing a claim with them. When looking over the damage i could not help but notice the terrible quality in the paint. By no means is this SC Aquariums fault! I expressed my issues with Steve and come to find out, he contracts out the stand builds to another company. Due to Covid19, his #1 company had to halt production, so he had to find other manufactures. Well this manufacture that did my stand was sub par. There were runs, fish eyes, dry spots, and even missing areas of paint throughout the stand and canopy. Luckily Steve agreed and helped me out, but i did have to get it all refinished. It needed to be sanded down and repainted... A few weeks later and in the house, i start filling it up with water. No issues. I am very happy with the tank itself (SC Aquariums hand builds them right there in CA). It has the euro brace up top and plenty of calk to hold it all together! Canopy: Inside the canopy I am currently running a 6 bulb 48" ATI T5 fixture with 2 Reefbrite Tech LED's. I did modify the canopy with the help of @soulpatch and @ACENOBODY , I used some soft-close drawer slides, angle iron, screws, and a bunch of metal drill bits! I still need to seal the metal with a paint to prevent rust. It sits about 6" above the water, and if i ever need to replace bulbs or clean the water shield, i just roll it out! Stand: With this build I replaced my Bashsea sump for a sump with more features/options, the #Fijicube 36. Replaced my Vertex 150 skimmer with a #Skimz SM167. So far i really like the internal pump to save space and the DC pump is adjustable and quiet! The sump has an area for filter floss, so no more socks to clean. Every chamber has a lid to slow down evaporation and salt creep. Im still running a little cheato and bio-blocks. My #Neptune #Core20 is my return pump from the previous build. Hopefully i can set up the UV light soon, but i always get pulled away. As you can see, im trying to build an equipment board with the little space left over. Its an ongoing project. Also you can see the ATK and 2 #Kamoer X1 V2 dosers. Tank: Im running 2 @Ecotech #MP40 and a MP60. Stock list include a beautiful Blone Naso with its barbs and streamers, Yellow tang, kohl tang, salfin tang, 2 anthias, threadfin wrasse, clown gobie, clown, diamond sand sifter, and mandarin. Corals: mostly nicer sticks and a few LPS. Im running tropic marin salt now, was using Reef Crystals for over 10 years, but constancy was not there. Well enjoy my build and thanks for reading!
  3. So, I am currently dosing 300mls/day of 2-part to keep my Alk around 8-8.5 dKH. Decide it is time to bring my CaRx on line and could use some help with the hookup and coding. My set up; -a Geo 612 rector with pH probe -CO2 regulator with dual gauge solenoid (https://fragtasticreef.com/deluxe-co2-regulator/) - small eheim feed pump (about 80gph) -Apex classic I reckon i need to plug the regulator into the EB8 and i can plug the pumps into any wall outlets. Can someone confirm this and help with the programming codes, what codes to put where? many thanks Milton
  4. I've had my apex for 2 years and didnt realize it now has the heartbeat feature. I know it's been discussed in the forum (slightly) but given how important it is I thought I would reiterate. After all, if it saves 1 tank, it was worth the time I read that it pings every 10 minutes to see if your apex is up. I have yet to test this, however. For those of you who havent updated in awhile, this could be a great reason to do so. Here's a vid on it's setup:
  5. Hello WAMAS, I recently got 3x Hydra52 LED fixtures for my 48"L * 24"D * 21"H tank and looking for programming tips using Apex AWM module. For now i've been using program from below link but might have to tune more for moonlight settings. Could someone help me on this? https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?3053-Using-the-Season-Table-for-primary-and-moon-lighting-with-Hydra-Vega-Radion-LEDs-including-Weather-events
  6. Hi gang.. I know it has been a long time since I have been on the forum, but, life and circumstances dictated I didn't have the time to really have a look. Regardless, I need some help. In a couple months I will be deploying with the military overseas. It is my intent to make my system as automated as possible, specifically in regard to water changes. The piping is all set up and ready to go, now I just need to program my Apex to make it work. Here is the deal though. I am looking for someone to come to my house and show me, do it for me, or help me do it. I just don't have the time to read up on it, much less go back and forth here looking at suggestions that may or may not work. So, if you are a dandy at programming an Apex, please let me know. I am willing to pay for a nice dinner somewhere, or maybe more for your effort and time. I have a 90 Gal Bow front tank btw with limited corals and about 8 fish, some shrimp, sea stars, etc. Please PM me if you are able to help. I live in Arlington near 395 and Glebe road. Blake
  7. I'm considering buying a used APEX controller, but I'm interested to know about the lifetime of an APEX controller and it's probes. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  8. Anyone checked to see if they could hack into the Jebao dosing pump via the back port to program it? might be interesting if you could use a serial connection or connect that port to an Apex I think its just for daisy chaining expansions? I just got mine and havent had a chance to do anything other than open the box...
  9. Dear Moderators... My wish for 2014 is to have a section on our wonderful site devoted to Apex codes…. Can you make this possible? Thanks. -B
  10. When coming home from work yesterday I noticed my pH showing 9.28... Normally I hover around 7.9-8.0 at all times so this is definitely out of the norm. A minute later, the probe read 6.32. While watching it over the next 10 minutes it was wildly swinging. Took it out and soaked it in citric acid for an hour and rinsed in RODI. Put it back in my sump and still getting the same symptom. Does this look like my probe is going bad?
