  1. I use Rowaphos. Not sure if there is really a difference between it and generic GFO or if there is a difference besides texture/size, etc? I use the smallest lifeguard reactor for the small frag tank system. Works well for me.
  2. hello, are you looking for an item to buy or seeking help with method?
  3. Recently we replaced the Red Sea and a small frag tank on the left hand side of section. When I brought the Red Sea tank over, I decided to take off the back to access the plumbing and have it go into a central sump for the rest of the shed. What I didn't realize was how much the back piece was providing support for the stand.... it's just a plastic piece . It caused the stand to have a lot more movement and the weight was making me worried so we ended up ordering a frag tank (96x24x12) from Aquarium and Terrarium Builder. @husbwifereefer picked up his tank and offered to bring me back mine so it worked out perfectly! The tank at the shop: It has 4 x 3/4" return 4 x 1" drain Total cost was $1800 It arrived on 12/17/2022 and we got to working 12/31/2022. My neighbor took the Red Sea tank and @SemperFiSeaCoral the small frag tank so I didn't have to worry about storing them yay!!! It took us one day to fish out all the fish and corals, empty the tanks and down the street it goes! Frag tank went in it's place and plumbing the next day! (not in pic but we did add ball valves to each of the return) The move was a success!!! Have a few leaks but nothing plumber's puddy wouldn't solve
  4. I like it! I am still thinking of the ext 200 but stuck on the foundation problem. Congrats and can't wait to see it!
  5. Oh weird. This is the wifi version?
  6. I don't have that specific one but I have the X1 Pro-T. I set it up as continuous at a certain speed but have an external hydros plug that that turns on and off at specific time. Any smart plug will do but I wanted mine connected to a controller as a secondary precautious as it also monitor alk. So you can set the controller to turn off the doser if alk is higher than a certain Ph.
  7. Anyone have reference or can help with putting in a support beam for my foundation? I have a crawlspace (tight squeeze) and is looking to put some support to my foundation for a possible tank. I am located in Pasadena, MD 21122. Thank you. P.S. I am not handy and please don't message me with how to do it myself.
  8. That 120 is amazing. you need to be in reef of month!
  9. My only question is the time span between getting livestock out and having the new tank up and ready. If you need to hold the livestock in the holding tank for days/weeks to set up the new tank (setting up, plumbing, etc.) I would consider something simple like a large rubbermaid container. You can put all your live rock, fish, livestock in it with flow and it should be fine. Add some lighting if needed for longer duration. I know @telegraham recently swap tank and he has a rubbermaid going with lights while he sets up his new one. I moved homes with rubbermaids as temp. tanks also and it worked out well. I did not lose any of the fish.
  10. Not sure. Do what makes sense to you. Never hurt to try and find out. Sometimes the best way is to try it versus reading about it and trusting someone else's opinion. don't forget to document your work here so we can all learn.
  11. I don't know anything about seahorse but a couple of things come to mind: 1. Easier to hatch brine shrimp (24-48 hours) versus the lifecycle of pods ~ 7-15 days (??) 2. Brine shrimp you can purchase eggs at very cheap price and store for longer period of time. Pods has to be purchase live. 3. Hatched brine can be fed and hatching can continue daily/every other day. Pods requires phyto or a separate food source that you have to maintain and feed on a regular basis to continue population. 4. Brine easy to hatch and doesn't require a lot of equipment. Pods you need a way to maintain the population and prevent build up of amonia (water changes ... etc.)
  12. I use this brand from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Potassium-Chloride-KCl-1-Pound/dp/B008NX2WJ8/ I know some folks get the bulk bags of pellets (pool softener). usually I do a 1 Tsp per gallon for 10-15 min. If you see the corals being dirtier, do a stronger (2x-3x) concentration or longer period of time. Here's FarmerTy's method:
  13. We still have Premium Aquatics and Saltwater Aquarium
  14. Welcome back Just in time for the continued mass exodus from the hobby from the "not" Recession ...
  15. I have to check but I think one Uno covers the same as an XR30. Not sure how the Noops are. I will never break my back to save money. I can make more with my back well
  16. You can also consider the Uno 2.0. https://www.reefi-lab.com/reefi-uno-2-0-pro/ I hate the noops lol. Anything that takes me more than 30 min to figure out I am over it. I know they now have a wifi version but I have a lot of concern that they require you to download the app directly from their site instead of the google/apple store. That might just be my paranoia.
  17. About 1 degree F daily. Room temp is set to 75. Hydros control on off at 76-80 (secondary) Inkbird control set at 77 with 0.5 degrees flux control.
