  1. I’m going to double check, but I believe Red Sea has the red g2 “upgrade” plumbing kits with their newer gate valve available for older reefer tanks. If you really wanted an upgrade, the bulkhead is a big triple flange siliconed on with three nuts on the bottom, it is not tough to get out if the tank is empty. get that sucker out to fit 3 x 1” bulkheads and implement a higher quality sch80 gate valve on the drain. 2. Hello Wamasers, This is a feeler to try to find someone interested to work at AquaHaus in the shop and possibly someone with previous tank servicing experience. Pay negotiable commensurate with experience. Must be able to: 1. Have a positive, willing and helpful attitude. 2. Be currently maintaining or previous experience with a reef tank - a comprehensive understanding of the parts of a basic system 3. Clean Driving Record 4. Live a reasonable distance from Springfield, seeking 25-40/hrs per week. 5. Capable to lift 50lb above your head, (buckets of water) Could be one person full time or two part time. Inquire to Adam @ AOB@AquaHaus.com if interested! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yes! We are actually open 7 days a week now -Adam Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. If you need to cross that bridge, you can remove the whole triple “bulkhead” and replace with 3x 1” standard bulkheads. upside- you can use non proprietary junk gate valve for drain, customize with equipment as you like. downside, time and effort or $ to do it.
  5. You would need mp40’s as the 10’s wont hold. The issue becomes if you push more than 30-40% on the sides you’ll spin sand, if back mounted will push water over the rimless front. So you’ll never need more than 50% For installs of these tanks I like vertically mounted reefwaves or smaller maxspect gyres on either side of the overflow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I’m not sure how you want to skin it, but I have 7 of these tanks at the shop on 2x4 stands with magnetic doors. I can snap some photos or you can swing by to see if you like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I would (and have) use capped bulkheads flange side up gasket on the water side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hello WAMAS Community, I would like to invite everyone to our Grand Opening this Saturday from 10am to 6pm Location: 7025 Brookfield Plaza in Springfield (Formerly operated as Quantum Reefs). I took over the store’s lease from Vince and acquired all of the equipment in November. As many of you know it was in extremely tough shape, and it took quite some time to get everything cleaned out, organized, and re-cycled. I will continue to build my inventory based on requests and suggestions from you all, but I have hundreds of corals, a selection of fish as well as foods and supplies. If you would like to come out and support, we will have Free Giveaways, Raffles, and a Fish Fry Cookout (Reef safe of course [emoji41]) 12pm-4pm We look forward to serving you in the future, and thanks for reading! 10. You can get a quote from FishWorld in Richmond. They build giant glass tanks in house. I have 2 glass cages tanks, my experience with them has been fine. Not the prettiest but havent had any issues. Coast to Coast is a cut above. Def more money but fantastic quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. 4x Hydra 26 on 5ft tank, definitely capable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Just a recommendation from personal experience, I like that combo. There are definitely much less expensive options out there. My suggestion looks clean, fills every corner with light, is adjustable, and the t5 fixture (which Includes a hanging kit) could be implemented for near the price of some mounting hardware alone (RMS) I have run PC, t8, t5, MH, cheap-o LED, nice LED, and hybrids. It could certainly be a culmination of other factors as well but the mix of LED / t5 represents the best option available for color and spread IMO. 2x Hydra HD will definitely work great standalone Op! 16. The hydras are a bit less expensive, and are great. IMO a bit easier to configure as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 2x Radion G4 pro mounted inside Aquatic life T5 add on w/ 2 ATI blue+ and 2 Actinic bulbs, You can grow anything even on the sandbed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. As long as you plug everything back in where it was, it should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. IceCap makes fans that ramp up and down based on their attached temp probe. They work great and are quiet but do not turn completely off when the hood temp drops at the time the lights turn off. Attaching them to an apex or timer fixes that. More expensive than computer fans, but the automatic adjustability is a cool feature and you don’t need any diy wiring or power adapters and extensions. I have my 2 pushing cooler air into the hood, hot air escapes through vent holes on the top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Wetwebmedia.com is a great resource! A million and one videos on youtube also. The problem is that you will find a lot of contradictory information and anecdotal claims. My best advice would be to find a reefer friend or store that you trust, And try to replicate what they are doing to be successful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I have put bleached acro frags and broken up colonies in my CA reactor, it melts just like normal media. Wild collected / pasture raised organic vegan free range coral skeleton. I wonder where TLF media comes from, I always assume he’s buying dead coral for $.01/lb from all of the major wholesalers in florida, cause its clearly coral skeleton and you know they have losses. As for the plugs, it depends on how clean you can get them (removing glue/algae) but I re-use a lot. I Typically break them off and mount them, then re-use the plug. 22. Where is this pulling water from? Would you want failsafes like floor sensors or float switches to override if it didn’t go according to plan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. How old is the probe? Is it not calibrating to the correct value or not allowing you to enter the calibration? Already try cycling the power and trying again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
