  1. I live in Urbana and I won’t go back in there. Father is nice enough, but son has a lot of growing up to do. Told me that fishkeeping is “vanity”. Good luck taking over the family business with that attitude.... Paul and Dylan at Fintastic are great, so i’ll drive out of my way to give them my business.
  2. . Thanks will do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Amateur questions! New to the hobby. Thanks for helping Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Ok one more - there are brown bubbles attached to coral. Related. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Can anyone help me ID what this is? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Congrats. Nice meeting you folks at the Saturday. First one for me. Special thanks to Seth for spending a few hours helping me and testing my water! Difficult hobby, the support means a lot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. You all have really been incredible with the support. I suppose I didn't know what to expect when I reached out. Here are my two new "boney" friends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Good to know - thanks. I use the Coral RX coral dip - wasn't cheap. Followed the directions carefully, but who knows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Do they have a VRTN, lol. It sounds a lot like RTN. Now to find out why. Thanks for the book recommendations. I've read the New Marine Aq by Paletta and Marine Chemistry by Brightwell. I'm going to try and rearrange some plans and come out for the meeting Saturday. It's a bit of a hike but I'm interested in learning more. Thanks again -Matt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Ok- I'm up in Frederick md, but I'm going to try and make it. My name is Matt. Thanks for the offer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Do you really think I would be this frustrated right now if I didn't carefully research? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thank you all. I'm pretty close to giving up. At my wits end. The one you say is very dead is very new. Blew another $70 over the weekend on some new corals and turned the lights way down - especially the whites. My new corals are already losing color and becoming "boney". Very discouraged. Where am I supposed to get coral if I can't trust the two stores I've gone to? All my water and light parameters seem ok and no one has any answers for me. This whole thing has been a huge nightmare. 13. Well it looks pretty ugly, so maybe I'll try to pull off with tweezers or something. How long can the coral stay outside of the water while I attempt to perform this brain surgery? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Pretty flat from side. I googled keyhole limpet and it does look similar. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. I think you're right, likely barnacle. I got it from King of Corals. I've bought 4 Corals from there and 3 are dead. This is the 4th one. I only got it 7 days ago. New tank, just over 3 months old. I wouldn't know if it was already stressed, very new to hobby. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
