  1. You may also want to consider converting to standard unit to give you flexibility of finding plumbing parts locally or building out a manifold. You can buy the metric to standard couplings at BRS here: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/metric-to-standard-pvc-union-slip-x-slip-adaptive-reef.html
  2. I wouldn't go out of the way to chase the numbers(e.g. getting a CO2 scrubber), but things like turning on the fuge light on a reverse cycle to display light or connecting the skimmer in take tube to the outside should raise your overall PH by .2 or so. Weren't you getting fast growth in the same room with the 22 Long?
  3. Yeah. The one week that I was away for the holidays really triggered his self service attitude. I guess I wasn't feeding enough with the autp-feeder and he helped himself with the scolys. Welp, good news is that the scolys are back in the display tank. The weird thing is that the green and orange one to the right of the Warpaint scoly used to be different color. You can see it as the green one with the blue ring that was also next to the Warpaint scoly in this picture. Here is that piece when I came home from holidays: It did fully heal in my side tank but did changed color patterns.
  4. Looking good. Need more torches in the top low boy though.
  5. Sadly, I decided that the Regal Angel had to be pulled out of the tank. He has eaten most of a scoly, a whole trachy, killed a mini colony of Pink Floyd acros and starting to nip at the Homewrecker acros. It took me this long to come to this decision because he has a very awesome misbar pattern and eats pellets and flakes from the water column(along we frozen food). But he is slowly wrecking my coralscape. I listed him forsale and got a perfect buyer for him. Now it is a matter of catching him in my tank. My secret weapon is to chum him with his favorite coral - a scoly. It was fairly quick as I found him in the trap the next day going in for a meal. Bagged and met up with the buyer before I decided to setup a FOWLR with this guy. Will miss this little guy.
  6. Very Nice. How much water volume will be in the shack?
  7. Hopefully Larry cooked it before eating, I don't think LRS is sushi grade. 😲 Let me know if you need some All-for-Reef when you are back.
  8. Maybe try All-For-Reef first since you are already dosing. Reduces your operation to a single pump and not having to deal with CARX. This is what I have switched to for over half a year, since turning off my CARX. From their website: With these components and balanced in its concentration ratio, Tropic Marin® All-For-Reef creates the best care conditions with just one solution. There are no additional compounds (e.g. sodium chloride) that alter the salinity or ion balance. https://www.tropic-marin-smartinfo.com/all-for-reef?lang=en I have some fluid mixed if you want to try it out first.
  9. Awesome. Are there 3 Regal angels in there? Need a fourth?
  10. I have had Tiger Cucumbers for over 4 years. Never had an issue except one showing up in my overflow. Had to wait for him to go down the overflow to my basement sumo. It was kinda mangled inside the Filter Roller(Clarisea) tube, but no issues. https://www.instagram.com/p/CScOYvEDKPp/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= I can catch one at night easily if you are still looking for one.
  11. Tank continues to mature. Here is a FTS: Continue to accumulate torches. Here is a reverse tiger grail from @lynn.reef.nerd: The torches are starting to spread to the sand bed now:
  12. My first reaction is aiptasia. I have had them out in the open in the sandbed like OP's pictures.
  13. Looking awesome. Can you tell me what the pink coral with the white growth tip is? I got something similar, if not exact. But forgot the name. Thanks.
  14. And you are such an enabler. Thanks for the other scolys in the tank now. Thank you. Wow... looking back at this thread to see when I got the captive bred Regal. Didn't realize it has almost been 6 months. Finally added him to the main display 2 nights ago along with the Blotchy Anthias and the whitetail tang. Lucky to report no prolong aggression against the new guys in the tank.
  15. I have had similar experience a few years back. Did an ICP test to find out that I had high Tin in my water. Torches, hammers, softies were all fine, but the SPS were STNing. If you have stable acceptable general parameters, I would do an ICP test. Good luck. It can be frustrating. But it can be figured out and addressed.
  16. After the summer of neglect, I got my ICP test this week and the PO4 is at .42 and NO3 is around 21.5. Slowly bringing down the PO4 now. Boosted the tank with a few corals from Reef Nerd Aquatics and others. Great selection and healthy corals from @lynn.reef.nerd. Here is a new scoly that goes crazy when I am broadcasting feeding frozen food: Quick video of the current tank:
  17. Wow.... that thing is going to be super resilient. Well traveled, picking up all sorts of bacteria and nastys in all of your tanks.
  18. Thanks. I got that piece from visiting Dr. Mac of Pacific East Aquaculture the summer of 2021. I was motivated to get this rainbow pectinia after seeing a picture of it in @lynn.reef.nerd's tank. Not sure if she still has some. I will say that in my tank, I have not seen this pectinia throwing out any sweeper tentacles. I used to have a Space Invader Pectinia and that thing was super aggressive with the # of tentacles and how long they were. With a fairly packed tank now, I do appreciate corals that aren't always trying to kill others.
  19. Thanks. Just started the All For Reef a couple of days ago. They recommended 5ml per 100L to start. So doing 25ml this week and see if it maintains the desired ALK level. So far it has for the last 2 days. We will see longer term, how it goes. I am using the pre-mix 1000ml bottle. Ordered the 1600g powder, which should last me more than a year if I am still only needing 25ml/day. Need to find a reliable magnetic stirrer to mix up 1000ml batch at a time.
  20. The 20lb CO2 in the CaRX ran out. I have never cleaned it since running it for about 3 years. I am actually going to shut it down for now and dose All For Reef with a Kamoer X1 Pro 2 pump. It is much more simpler, cleaner setup. I will see how stable it keeps my parameters. Dosing about 25ml a day right now and keeping my ALK around 8.3. The PH has also gone up too with the CaRX shutdown. Getting up to 8.3 for peak of the day. Also, with the weather in the low 80s, I am keeping a basement window open. Here are some other corals from today that didn't fit in the last post:
  21. Didn't spend alot of time with the tank over the summer. But now that summer is basically over, cleaned up the tank today and taking inventory on some of the growth. The Copperband Butterfly mysteriously died overnight a few weeks ago. I think the trachys are happier without the CBB picking at them randomly throughout the day. They are big and puffy. I am trying to decide if I want big puffy trachys and maybe move the Maxima clam from the side tank back to the main tank vs. getting a replacement CBB. Lots of growth in torches and some SPS also:
  22. Very nice! So much more room to add some of my torches. When you gonna pick up?
  23. I have a Red Sea Reefer 525XL(109G display) in the main floor with a basement sump setup. It is about 11 feet in head height with about 12 feet linear distance from where the sump sits in relationship to where the tank is located above. I have a Red Dragon 3 230Watt Flow pump that maxes out at about 480 GPH, when I shut off the manifold. With the manifold feeding the UV and a small fuge, I get about 380 GPH. Would I like more flow from the return pump? Yes. But about 3.5x turnover is good enough for me. I do have 2 MP40s and 1 XF350 in the display blasting flow up there. I probably be better off going with the Red Dragon High Pressure setup(the volute is different vs. the High Flow setup). But I think I am ok with the turnover rate I am getting. I don't control the DC pump with any app since I need it maxed out at 230W to give me the flow rate I need. When I do water change, I just manually turn it off to zero watt. There is a 10V cable for use with Apex for the larger size RD3 pumps. Good luck with your decision. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
