  1. Hope this the right spot, but Christina’s Coral Cabin is having a 20% off everything in her shop on 3/3 for her 40th birthday if anyone is available to come on by [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It’s a different kind of peppermint shrimp, a Lysmata Rafa. I thought they were camel shrimp at first too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Believe it or not peppermint shrimp but this kind. A friend of mine was having someone help with her tanks and they accidentally put this this peppermint shrimp in the tank and they ate 40 ricordias within the day! It has to be the ones with the horizontal line across the back and not the standard breed we see all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hey everyone but sure you anyone say this post online but Christina’s Coral Cabin is having a free frag Friday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I currently do, both dwarfs and full size Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thank you! It makes me feel better that he does have heavier sand on one side. I had it sloping left to right but maybe I’ll do it in the front to the back for more weight across a wider area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Has anyone ever kept garden eels? The substrate I read needs to be 6” deep minimum but I do not want the whole substrate to be 6” in the tank. If I add 6” to just one side, do you think that weight not evenly distributed will break the tank? It’s a 40 gallon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks everyone! I’ll just cut the inner lip to make items fit [emoji3526] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Can I remove the top rim on a 40 gallon and have it not ruin the integrity of the tank? I’ve done it in smaller tanks, like 10 gallons, but the water volume in a 40 gallon makes me a little nervous. I don’t like the top rim as it makes it hard for items like a protein skimmer, etc to fit properly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I didn’t see the answer anywhere but what/where are you getting the water you are mixing your new water from? I had an issue in the past, have some now cause haven’t had a chance to replace the filter in my RO/DI chamber. It throws it off just enough to wreak havoc with algae growth. It’s just a thought. Also, maybe you don’t have enough bacteria in your tank with all the water changes and Vibrant use. Don’t give up hope on your tank. We all go through this at some point. It’s frustrating for sure but hang in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey guys. With all the changes in these little nuggets over the years it gets harder and harder to figure out these random finds. Picked up this little guy yesterday while buying dog food at my local Petco. He was in the Assorted Clownfish tank and and I had to have him since my other clown lost her mate. Can someone help me identify what he is? Is he a black ice, black snowflake, bullet hole, something new? Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Just an update. Found my firefish last Sunday with a gash in his side dead in the tank. That was the last straw and I took all the rock out and caught the little devils. Come to find out they had been breeding and I think every time she had a clutch she would kill anything that swam by. Needless to say that break down distorted my tank. I lost a bunch of corals and 6 fish, but at least they’re out and I will just start replacing what was lost Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Lost a lot of items in my tank as of late…all thanks to a mated pair of pistol shrimp. It’s a long story, but they’re out of the tank now and the tank is slowly settling and getting everyone is trying to get back to normal after the disruption. However, I noticed my male Wyoming white is MIA. That’s odd for him to just not be with his mate? There is no body that I can find and nothing to kill him but he didn’t come out for feeding and that’s not like a clown. I think he might be gone. I’ll give it a few days however. If he is, I will need to get another cause having just one breaks my heart. I was thinking about adding a Maroon and seeing if I could do a Wyoming/Maroon pair. Is that possible? If not suggestions. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It’s funny you say that because I added my mantis Monday to the tank…lol. She has better manners than my pistol hahaha. This hobby always keeps us on our toes that’s for sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Has anyone heard of pistol shrimp killing fish? I have a mated pair of pistol shrimp and within the past 3 months I have lost a 1/2 dozen fish. What makes me think it maybe them is I had a pair of fire fish who lived in a rock cave in my tank. One day they were both missing and 2 days later the pistols were living in their hiding place. 19. All the levels are at zero. I have added 3 hermits, 2 snails and tried to feed him krill and fresh shrimp, which my peacock loves, and he just leaves it on the sand. The fact that I could hold him makes me nervous. My female peacock is social and she will climb my hand and I can rub her shell which she likes, but NEVER, have any of them let me pick them up and move them which is making me nervous. 20. Hey guys I’m hoping someone can help me. I’ve had several mantis shrimp over the years, but this is the first time one has acted like this. I bought a Chigra about 2 weeks back. I put him in my sump with some live rock and he was really active, but I haven’t seen him eat anything since 10/21. He liked to hide in my filter sock chamber. I figured he was just unhappy with his new home so Yesterday I set up a new tank for him. Put live sand in, but the water was from the main tank along with his rocks. He is currently hiding in his cave, but has his pereipods up in the air on one side, and fanning his pieopods. Does anyone know if this is a sign of getting ready to molt or do you think he’s dying? He is full grown so I know at this point my time is borrowed since Chigras only live 2-7 years. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Everything moved to Facebook. It’s under Richmond Reefers. There is also Richmond Reef keeping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I think they are the monti eating nudibranch. I've noticed small patches of STN on my montis and now I know why. The only way I think I could have gotten them is a huge chalice coral I purchased. I dipped it for 20 min but it had lots of crevices and perhaps the dip didn't get all the way in. Either way I've caught it fast enough and I'll be looking for a possum or pink streaked wrasse to take care of them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yes. It had antenna and feather like body like my berghia Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I have been finding tiny white nudibranchs in my tank and I am not sure if these are bad or good? It's not a lot, but maybe 3-4 in a 4 month time period. I did all my frags when I get them in RPS out. I did add some berghia nudibranchs years ago but thought they had all died. Could these little guys be off spring? How do I tell the good ones from the bad? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
