  1. Thank you so much for all of our new fish. We already named them all! We will post pictures soon.
  2. thank you for all the fish we will look into the donations. we can not take the giant turbo snails, for our tank is too small. we will definitely look into the yellow tang.
  3. Our fish tank is getting lonely, and there is a lot of algae on the tank walls. We are starting to miss the life in our fish tank. The lack of fish is what we think is causing the algae. Before we lost all our fish it was fun to go to the fish tank and look at their habitat. Now we don't get the excitement of going to see our one fish. We hope this blog will get us some new fishy friends!
  4. At Emerick the fish tank light is not working. We only have 1 fish still and 2 star fish. The light comes on as we are packing up.We have tried to reset the timer but we think it might be broken. We hope that over spring break our fish or start fish wont die.Are original fish food has gotten wet and went bad.We are using different fish food and are 1 fish seems to like it and the star fish.
  5. Hello, I am Matthew from the Emerick fifth grade class. The fish tank we have is awesome. Every week someone gets to clean and feed the fish. It helps us with responsibilities, but we are down to one fish. So...we would like some more fish. PLEASE!!!
  6. in our tank we have big rocks and in these rocks there are little pores with living organisms in them. organisms such as shrimp, enemies anemones, and some others that we can not identify.
  7. We just learned that if we blog we get more fish, so we need to start blogging! At the beginning of the year we started out with 7 fish and now we only have 2! We also have the 2, mean, serpent sea stars.
  8. FISH TANK REVIEW There hasn't been very much activity in the fish tank. All that is visible in the tank is swimming cautiously, and carefully. These last two deaths have been the very thing that these three fish have been trying to avoid. As the Serpent Sea Stars stalk their prey, other things have been going on in this tank. A baby starfish died earlier in the year. The Serpent Sea Stars have been hiding in what looks like a game of hide n' seek. As I observed the fish tank once more, I found that these sea stars are actually on the side of the tank. I also viewed a bunch of small, and beautiful shells huddled together in a small group. It would be truly fascinating if one (or both) of the Serpent Sea Stars collected those shells, and placed them in that very spot. As I look back for the last time at the fish tank, I see one of the long, thin tentacles move up very slowly from the sea star. The Yellowtail Damsel is swimming sweetly in the water, the Cinnamon Clownfish is staring through the glass, and the Serpent Sea Stars are still clinging onto the blue, solid tank wall.
  9. one of our clown fish has just died not to long ago. This death was caused by the fish going stuck in the filter
  10. we do not have any pictures yet, but we will try to get one soon
  11. In our tank there are different types of wildlife we have our fish, which we talked about in our latest blog, and then we have Cinnamon Clownfish pair,, Yellowtail damsels, serpent starfish, and various snails. These are all the types of wildlife in our tank.
  12. Different Wildlife In our tank there are different types of wildlife we have our fish, which we talked about in our latest blog, and then we have Cinnamon Clownfish pair,, Yellowtail damsels, serpent starfish, and various snails. These are all the types of wildlife in our tank.
  13. At the beginning of the year, we started out with 6 fish, but now we only have three. One fish had a tragic death and was eaten by 2 serpent sea stars and another got stuck on the filter and died. It has been a total of three that have disappeared or died recently though. We are wondering why some of our new fish are having difficulty surviving? We have noticed that some fish are more aggressive than others.
  14. What do yellow tang fish eat? Do the bumps on the chocolate chip seastar help it do something? Why are the two yellow tailed damsel fish so aggressive? How big can chocolate chip seastars get? Why do the serpent stars hide so much? Will the hermit crabs eat anything in the tank? Do some anemone make deadly stings? Why does the gorgonian sometimes have long spikes and other times does not?
  15. We have not had any casualties in the last few weeks. We have however, noticed long a long white stringy substance forming on the top edge of the tank. The Sea urchin has seemed to grab these white strings and they are now stuck to his body. Our large anemone is moving, it seems to be getting closer to the gorgonian.
