Need help with Icecap 4k gyre and controller. According to the instructional video, I should see the word pumps on the status screen, but I do not. Can any one help?

I also recommend a Reef buddy. They can learn your system and you their's. Switch off and cover when one goes out of town. Here is a piece of equipment that has saved me a ton of headaches.

I need to replace my Maxspect XF250. How does the Icecap 4k compare. Mostly interested in noise level, reliability, and, water movement.

Good point. I read about when researching ULNS.It's funny, but having zero nitrates and phosphates does not indicate that you have a ULNS system. It can also mean that any nitrates and phosphates are quickly consumed and locked up in algae, cyano, etc.
A tank overrun with hair algae, for example, often measures zero on nitrates and phosphates for this very reason.

Small amount of cyano. Does it tend to disappear in the early morning hours but reappear after the lights have been on for a while? Cyano tends to form films and, if you vacuum it out or use a turkey baster to suck it out, you can use the removal process to export the nutrients that it's feeding on. It's common and a bit of a nuissance at times.
Whats odd is I had been having trouble with zero nitrates and zero phosphates. This had been going on for quit some time even after over feeding. I started dosing N03. The recommended dose was 1ml per 25 gallons. I only dosed 2mls on my 120gal tank. The nitrates and phosphates are still zero. I am measuring nitrates with the salifert test kit and phosphates with Hanna ULR phosphate checker. So I am a little suprised to see cyano.

I wasn't aware of that. I ordered the sodium nitrate, so I will just wait for that.

Thanks for the reply.

I mistakenly ordered calcium nitrate. I should have ordered sodium nitrate. Is there a use for the calcium nitrate? I need it to raise nitrates.

Thanks for the in put. I ordered the ULR.

Better to buy to ULR or LR Hanna Phosphate Checker? I am having ultra low nutrients and need to start doing nitrates and phosphates, so I want to buy the phosphate checker, but not sure which one.

That is amazing. It makes me wonder what is the life span of reef fish is captivating as well as in the wild.

So sorry and sad to see. If you have been in reefing for any length of time, you are bound to have a crash. It is heart breaking. The good thing is to receive help from everyone. Good luck on the regrow.

I have The Typhoon II by Air, Water, Ice.com. I am very pleased with it. Just look at what fits your needs. The membrane is what restricts your GPD. So you could always change later. 50gpd is not bad.

Yes, I must be. I thought it would dose between 6am and midnight. Which was just for testing.
I think you’re misunderstanding something. Using that code the doser will not come on at 6pm or 7pm... it will start dosing between midnight and 6am. If that’s what you’re trying to do, then the code is correct

Right now just trying to get it to work. Once I do I will 00:00‐06:00.

So I used this program, as you can see in the picture. Both 6pm and 7pm the doser did not come on. When I was looking for programs I saw one that stated, if you used the timer function it had to be in outlet 4 or 8. Is that the case with this one?

Thanks. Thats what I am using, but for some reason can't get it to work. I will double check.

Hello. I had an advanced program for my doser. I am looking one that I would have on from 00:00-06:00 for 5minutes per hour. If you have a similar program and can provide a screen shot I would appreciate it.

Flipper Max Vs Tunze Care Magnet
in General Discussion
I have always used the Flipper Max but looking for something that is better for stubborn coralline algae. Please give me your opinion if you have used both or think there is something better. Aquarium is glass.
