Royal gramma head diving

It's like. Head diving into the sand. Coming up. And diving again head first. And earlier when I was feeding them. Noticed he had sand On his face like he was eating the sand. Or something in the sand.

It's not there anymore at first I panicked and thought it was ick.

Is this some kind of behavior. Mating or something?

I found the cause. He ate a bristle worm. Or rubbed up against one. I can see the brown "stingers"

He isn't breathing fast. How do I remove the stingers

I won't even be able to catch him theirs a million holes he hides in. I mean I can take the rocks out its only 2 big pieces.

OUCH

Don't attempt to remove the bristles. My clowns do this at least once a week; they'll dissolve in a couple days, no prob.

It's like when you get bristled. It sucks for a couple days, and you don't want to touch anything, but there's no lasting damage.

I never got bristled nor do I plan to. I use grabbers and tongs for everything. If my hands need to go in and grab rock I wear gloves. I don't know what's in there. All my rock came out of 5+ year old huge tanks. I know theirs a 6 inch bristle worm. Or was. Haven't seen it since I got the CBS.
