Lots of time sanding and a few coats of stain. Then polyurethaned. I use minwax KONA ,I thought it was going to be too dark but turned out great. I also made my own shelf/beer rail out of solid wood and crown molding. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I like it! Are the finished panels attached to the 2 x 4 frame?

Yes, I used a Brad nailer to attach them. No need to go overboard because they are not for the structural integrity.

Very nice!

Did you make the doors?

No I did not. I don't have the tools to do so. I got them from http://www.rjaquatics.com They are one of two SOLID WOOD producers for aquariums in the USA. Owner is a stand up guy.

Nice work! Do this for others ever? How did you buy just the doors exactly? Don't see that kind of option on their website, but maybe I missed it.

Thanks guys and gals. They're not listed on the site, but if you call them, they have many sizes.

I'd be willing to build more for others, but it's not cheap to do. Not exactly sure of costs, but I know it's a few hundred dollars, and a few weeks work.

ditto! I thought my build was going to cost around $50 and all of a sudden it cost me over $200. It was fun to build it...

I'd be interested to see your design specs or cut list etc. It's a very nice stand, really dig how the bottom tank frame is covered.

Haha design specs and cut list......um, it was in my head and I just had to triple check all measurements. As far as the bottom black trim of the glass, I just mounted my shelf over an inch higher. Boom, solved that issue!

Haha, yeah I have 2-7 gallon juggs. So I can only make like 20 gal a day. It's taking forever

UPDATE-SO I have been filling with ro/di water for th past week. I can only add about 15gal per day due to work schedule and the speed of my ro/di system. I added sand after rinsing, and still have merkey water. Should have enough in there tonight to start the sump and filtration.

I have also been trying to figure out my aquascape. So drilling and pasting a few things. I'm trying to keep a minimalistic look with shelfs so some sps can table. I'll post more pics once the water clears up. I will also start dosing zeovit-zeolite, zeostart, and zeobak

Update, water is in, zeovit is started....Skimmer impeller broke, so waiting on a new one there. Metal Halides and T5 looks better in person. I still have to aquascape.
