Topic: A 10-year History of my 500-gallon Reef Tank
This presentation will discuss the evolution of my 500G over the last 10 years.  Reef Aquariums are not static in time.  As the aquarist evolves so does the technology, and a 10-year-old reef aquarium may look very different from how it started.  There is considerable amount of learning and knowledge acquired that can be used to educate the new and even established reef enthusiasts. With this in mind, I will share my initial design thoughts, and how they have evolved over time along with lessons learned over these years.

About Sanjay Joshi
Sanjay Joshi in real life is a Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State University. He has been a reef addict since 1992, and currently keeps several reefs aquariums at home including a 500G SPS dominated reef. He also co-manages the 500G aquarium at Penn State.

Dr. Joshi is actively involved in educating the hobby on various topics such as lighting, aquarium system design and general reef husbandry through his publications in reef magazines and lectures. He has published articles in magazines such as Advanced Aquarist, Reefs Magazine, Coral, Marine Fish and Reef Annual, Aquarium Frontiers, and Aquarium Fish.

In addition he has been an invited speaker at several marine aquarium society meetings in the US and Europe. He received the MASNA award in 2006, for his contributions to the marine aquarium hobby.

*The picture used is only an example of corals that could be included in the frag pack. There is no guarantee that the types of corals pictured will be in the frag pack.

The Frag Pack includes 20 frags of different aquacultured SPS (small polyped stony), LPS (large polyp stony) and soft (zoanthid, play, sinularia, nepthia, etc.) corals, excluding chalices.  The assortment of corals is a good mix of type and color (corals picked by the donor vendor) and are on frag plugs.
