SunWyrm September 9, 2015 Share September 9, 2015 My 8g Evolve was perfect, but I have broken it down so that I can stay away from having too many tanks and keep my focus on just one. Sorry for the mass of poor quality pics, but I just wanted to share the tank that has made me so happy.

SunWyrm October 13, 2015 Author Share October 13, 2015 Water change day update! Pumps were off and I thought the nem looked pretty cool just droopy. This thing is massive!
SunWyrm October 13, 2015 Author Share October 13, 2015 Went on an aiptasia vs kalk paste spree, changed out filter media and added some new frags from Incredible corals. Husband thinks it's too full. I say there's always room!
John Ford October 13, 2015 Share October 13, 2015 Not to say he's wrong, I'm just saying I see plenty of room for new frags. Looks nice! SunWyrm October 23, 2015 Author Share October 23, 2015 Thanks all!!! I'm super proud of it. Everything's doing really well.Except when will I learn to have a nice top on my QT? Made a full coverage screen top for my display, but I had a plastic "lid" sitting on my QT tank, and my gorgeous male flasher wrasse carpet surfs with half an inch of clearance. SUPREMELY bummed this morning. Guess I'm on the hunt for one again.
Reefer_Madness October 24, 2015 Share October 24, 2015 That's sucks. I love flasher wrasses. I had a McCoskers.

SunWyrm October 28, 2015 Author Share October 28, 2015 They're some of the most personable fish. It took him 2 days to get excited about seeing me (it's all that tasty LRS food). Skimmer decided not to work right after I got a ton of beautiful SPS from bbyatv. Trying to figure out a DIY Kalk stirrer too... In other news: my unidentified "graboid/Dune sandworm" was opened up like a sunflower this morning! Couldn't get a decent pic, had to race for my cellphone, and the lights were still off - didn't want to use the flash. I have plenty of pics of it during the day, never knew what it was, and NEVER saw it do this before! Now that I know what it does, I'll work on getting a better pic of it open. Looks like a featherduster/aiptasia with two rows. fluoresces green on top, and has bumps all over. It also gets algae on it, and then sheds much like a leather. The base is wider/round, which is loosely in that hole under the zoa plug. It's never "moved" on it's own. Only gets thinner when in higher flow, and can change to face a different direction. If anyone has any ideas LMK! During the day. CenterThis morning. Center, next to an open feather duster.
SunWyrm November 5, 2015 Author Share November 5, 2015 Forgot to add, someone over on the nanoreefs forum found it was a snake polyp, not a worm, but a coral. I love my tank. Though I'm having to add small rocks to keep the RBTA from stinging anything and everything (including my new sps frags from Bruce), which is taking away from the overall scape, but tanks evolve.... and I'm thinking I need a frag rack for more space!Anyway, here's more pics:And some nicer pics of my screen top. not the prettiest, but it does a great job. SunWyrm November 9, 2015 Author Share November 9, 2015 This RBTA is outta control!I made a very sad frag rack. This might be one of the saddest things I've ever done. I either need to finish my in-sump frag section or buy a nice magnetic frag rack. At least this will keep them from getting knocked over constantly until I figure it out.Hydnophora got knocked over (presumably by the clown, since it's too close to her majesty's rbta), and landed on an acan... everybody was unhappy and jellyish for a day, but there was no permanent damage surprisingly. Did a 4g water change this weekend, replaced all my media/filterfloss, got my skimmer running again (injector was clogged)... I'm really loving this tank, and I think it shows. My bubble coral is angry since I put a rock between it and the BTA and added a second MP10. On the plus side, I have noticeable SPS growth (big achievement) and my Nerites are laying eggs everywhere. Bonus sump pics! No, stand is not done. Yes, the sump is longer the stand. These are issues for another day.
SunWyrm November 17, 2015 Author Share November 17, 2015 Took some new photos over the weekend.Check out all the new points on my birdsnest! Hydnophora's so fluffy. Bubble coral is still grumpy from when I added the MP10 and moved some rocks, but it's getting better. FTS

SunWyrm November 27, 2015 Author Share November 27, 2015 Added a new addition a couple weeks ago. He has some crazy HLLE scarring (and was ridiculously thin when I first put him in QT), but hopefully it'll start to heal soon and once he outgrows this tank you won't know the difference. Poor chalk bass went nuts when he first went in though, glad I have a screentop. They're all out now and he's doing great. I'm running out of space! and my rbta just keeps on growing.... As pretty as my new frag rack is, I can't keep everything on it indefinitely lol. I have new zoa frags in QT that I have no space for on the big rock, unless I move some of the larger colonies (not happening). Otherwise they'll just be overrun by the ones that are already there. I'm torn between keeping my all zoas on the big rock in the back, and sps in the front or mixing things up.How do most SPS fair with zoas next to them? PICS!!! SunWyrm November 27, 2015 Author Share November 27, 2015 I set up skype to automatically answer calls from my contacts and it starts up the webcam on my desktop which I moved to the tank. Pretty nice to have; I can check on the tank whenever, as well as watch them without them seeing me, since they all beg for food when I'm in the room.So I call my computer from my phone while at work today. Aaaand my tang is eating the red macro, which he wont touch when I'm home. I was wondering why it kept getting ripped up and thrown around the tank.... This is why I can't have nice things! SunWyrm December 2, 2015 Author Share December 2, 2015 Tank is looking great! The YT will probably eat any macro algae you put in there, always used to eat my dragons breath. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Thanks! He doesn't do much damage to it surprisingly, foxface in my old tank never touched it so I assumed it was safe. He rips it up enough to let it go flying around the tank then looses interest. Spoiling him with Nori though, the fat little toad. nice tank Thanks!! Tons of poor quality pics ahead. I'm thinking maybe I should've invested in a nice camera during the Black Friday sales...Pardon the algae, I'll clean up before pics next time. Too much excitement this go around. I just love this tank. Yellow tang is already gaining color back, the pics make him look almost normal. In person, you can tell his skin is still missing in a large strip across his sides/lateral line and face, and he still has white patches on his face, but I'm surprised at how much he's improved. I also got some goodies over the big sales weekend from Epleeds and Incredible Coras! I think I need to stop buying for awhile. I'm definitely done with fish!!! I set up a frag section in my sump and somehow managed to fit one of my Acan leds down there. Going to add a basket for anemones and take a stab at propagating the monster in the display. No pics of that crazy mess lol. Snagged a clip "macro lens" for my phone off amazon for $7. Lol It's only okay for things up against the glass, but it's kinda neat to play with. Someone enjoyed checking it out! If you hadn't guessed from above, I also added my new wrasse from QT. I just love this tank.
Reefer_Madness December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Lookin great!!!!! Is that a Chalk Bass buddying up to your McCoskers Wrasse?
SunWyrm December 4, 2015 Author Share December 4, 2015 (edited) Yes! The wrasse tries to buddy up to everyone. Though the female clown and coral beauty don't care for him, and the only thing the tang seems to care about is his algae clip and the cleaner gobies. But the chalk bass love him, especially the smaller one. He's also starting to flare up instead of just run and hide when he's confronted, so he seems to be getting much more comfortable. Such a gorgeous fish.A couple SPS are starting to get grumpy, still have new growth on everything, but some are not as colorful as they were. Tri color, undata, mystic monti and red monti cap are all doing different things. However the first green monti I added, the hawkins echinata frags and birdsnest are all doing better than ever. I have to order new test kits so I'll see exactly what my levels are here soon. Pretty sure it's the nutrients from the increased bioload. Need to give the skimmer a vinegar bath this weekend and get it running again, as well as change my RODI filters. The to-do list just keeps going... SunWyrm December 7, 2015 Author Share December 7, 2015 I got a lot accomplished over the weekend. The skimmer is back on and the JBJ ATO is set up. I still have my Avast ATO sitting because I can't get my Aquacontroller software to work, but at least I'm not trying to keep up with top off manually anymore. Tons of cleaning and water changes on not just the display but QTs as well. My return pump tried to die on me again but I whacked it a few times to get it running after the water change. Cleaned all the glass, moved some frags around, and everybody got a treat of live black worms. In other news, these two are finally a couple:Bonus desk pico shot:
